WDWWDW: I am SO DISAPPOINTED! The shade that the umbrella provides is very important to my service dog and me. The sun heats my deck to extremely high temperatures that make it too hot for her paws, and I am extremely sun-sensitive (Lupus and skin cancer). For the short amount of time that we were able to use it, the umbrella made spending time together outside very enjoyable.
This red umbrella is truly beautiful, and I loved how it made my deck look more elegant simply by being there. I think the material feels thick and might be of good enough quality that it would have held up for a few seasons. Unfortunately, I won’t know how well the material holds up, because some of the metal pieces of the rods, levers, pins, and other parts of the device have broken and snapped apart. Now, the entire umbrella is COMPLETELY USELESS! My disability is such that I cannot dismantle this thing with the ease that a healthier person might be able, so getting it to the curb for the garbage men to pick up is going to be a huge challenge (and pricey, because I will have to pay someone to do it for me). The problem with returning it, of course I no longer have the packaging materials, and I cannot get it...

I just assembled it alone. And im just a 5' woman. And i love it because it is huge!
Some are wondering what the black bag is for. I think it is for weights. But i used hallow blocks for the mean time. And it works pretty well. Its just not very advisable to use it if it is very windy outside. Other than that its very good product! I absolutely recommend it.

Sunrise CircleSunrise Circle: Since we purchased our home, we have had to replace our patio umbrella every summer for the past 5 years.
I decided to upgrade out of the under a $100 price range and I’m very happy that I did.
This umbrella is totally worth the price!
pleasantly surprised by the quality and sturdiness All around. The hinging and swiveling features are convenient and Effortless to use. it’s very nice to be able to adjust the angle depending on The time of day and where the sun is hitting, making it 100% versatile.
The fabric durability is also impressive.. lovely, thick, weatherproof and waterproof material. the color blue is exactly what I was expecting from the photographs, matches my patio furniture perfectly.
Hubby decided to screw it down to the joists of our deck and it is holding very well. Set up was simple!
I am certain that we will get at least 5 years of use out of this awesome umbrella!

Don't want to set a pen name: I just received this evening. I got the orange color. Haven't used for any time; so will revise if necessary. First of all, any one, just any one who said this umbrella is junk, doesn't know junk. It's solid, powder coated and very nice looking. Everything needed to anchor is provided except the sand/rocks. It's the sturdiest base, I've ever purchased. Strings break, no matter the cost of the umbrella, you have to use finesse. Handles just don't snap off just like some of those photos, without forcing something that shouldn't be forced. Of course there can be an occasional lemon, manage your expectations.

I used step stones, because that's what was handy to anchor. I put solar lights underneath, and it illuminates a large area of yard as opposed to same light without umbrella. All umbrellas fade, seriously to ding a vendor due to fading. If this toppled over, I would say it was not properly weighted or set-up, or left open in too windy of conditions. This is ten feet of fabric like a parachute, and one expects it not to take off in wind? The size and style cannot withstand the same type of elements of a normal umbrella. Use common sense. Lastly what on earth does anyone...

Sharla CustomerSharla Customer: Purchased this to give us some shade on our deck. Love the size and structure. It was easy enough for one person to build and put together. I didn't realize it came with a sandbag so I had purchased one additionally. I use both sandbags to keep it weighted down, as we have yet to screw it down to our deck. I don't keep it open when not in use, as my city is a little on the windy side most of the time. I did have it open the other day, a windy day, and the wind caught it just the right way and blew it up and lifted the base slightly off our deck floor. Thankfully the sandbags kept it weighed down and I was outside to monitor it and catch it.

You will definitely want to screw or secure it down, and use the bags! It's easy enough to open as long as you remember the order to lock the mechanism in place before you raise it, and the crank is easy enough (takes a little arm strength). The only thing, and this was me not researching enough, was I wish the pole was capable of swinging side to side so you can adjust it to where you need it.
