William S. Pitcher: I used this as a text in teaching a man who will be spending his life in ministry. It's a great piece of work. It's clear, with no agenda other than to help you fully onderstand the things of God. Of the several works on systematic theology I have read, I like this the best.

M Dittman: This is an excellent resource. Sturdy, accurate, and well researched. My one pause is that it seems to be written more for seminary level, than for casual or personal study. Still an amazing source of reliable biblical interpretation!

David Belcher:
The Church today is lost in terms of ‘knowing God.’ Recently, Ligonier ministries conducted a national survey called the “state of Theology.” In this survey, they questioned professed Christians regarding what could be called Essential Christian Doctrine. This essential doctrine is the basic building blocks of the faith of any evangelical denomination in history past and today. Yet, based off the survey, the vast majority of professing American Christians are completely wrong in answering basic Christian faith-based questions. The concern from this survey is just sad, it’s alarming. If you do not have right belief then how do you have right salvation? The answer is; you don’t!
The right belief/faith comes from the right revelation/the Bible and Dr. MacArthur’s work outlines this clearly so that the reader can come to the right understanding.
I have been a Teaching Pastor for three years and I would claim this book as a must have for anyone that is teaching in a Christian church. It is the most cogent expression of biblical truth that I have personally read among comparisons of Systematic Theology. Systematic theology in its simplest...

Robert Jones: I ordered this book on Bible Doctrine by John MacArthur and Richard Mayhue - It came in remarkable quick time! Thanks Amazon - This book, I highly recommend to anyone studying Scripture with a desire to know truth - It is the most thorough of any book I've encountered on Bible Doctrine - The truthfulness and integrity of Scriptures, the Sovereignty of God, the fall and total depravity of man - the Christian life - justification, sanctification, glorification etc..., our adversary and spiritual warfare, our victory over the enemy by the power of God: as we are in Christ and filled by the Holy Spirit and His Word - Eschatology and study of end times - With all of today's false teachings that are so prevalent in many, if not most of today's evangelical churches today: those with a desire for truth need this book! - I gave a Bible study recently at the church I attend, and it astounded me at the lack of knowledge - "mature" Christians have! And no discernment! I attempted to teach the integrity of God's Word; the Canon, the sovereignty of God and total depravity of man, which bordered on the end times - One man who does some preaching and has a SS class got up near...

Tim: Bought this as I am an avid listener to MacArthur and even had the privilege of attending Grace Church last year. Few other present day teachers get close to this man in his understanding of God's word. I thought this book might've been a bit too "high brow" for me, I'm a simple layman, but it's very easy to pick up and a real page-turner.

A theological tour de force. A magnum opus. A breath-taking panorama that leaves the reader in awe. These are only a few descriptions of Biblical Doctrine: A Systematic Summary of Bible Truth. by John MacArthur and Richard Mayhue.
