Jung "Young" Dalton Parkims: (Kindle Ed. pp. 2-3)
...Those who dared venture into Hittite territory encountered worthy opponents skilled in the art of war and diplomacy, equally at ease with conducting embargoes and raids for both conquest and peace. The great Egypt, during an era of unprecedented power and wealth, had a Hittite problem. Their wartime efforts secured for them vast resources, but also led to meaningful "brotherly" relations with the key players of the region. They were legendary, significant and meticulous. The Hittites lived in a time when heroes and heroines of ancient civilizations could take actions that could direct entire civilizations. They asserted their ambition to be an international power and in the process have left our human story a rich treasure trove of their complex civilization as it related to the three superpowers of the time...For 3000 years, while the Hittites were the unknown fourth empire that held power between 1800 and 1200 BCE, their influence and their complex system of collective governance—seen as an early example of early Middle Eastern democracy that did not give a king absolute power in decision-making—guides us in gaining informed insight into their...

Israel Drazin: Hourly History books give us significant information. This 49-page book tells us about the Hittites who are mentioned in the Bible, but this book does not speak about any interaction between the two kingdoms, Hittites and Israel. The Hittite kingdom was formed around the 18th or 17th century BCE before the time of King David who lived around 1000 BCE. We do not know when the Hittite Kingdom ended but it was probably around 1200 BCE. So, Hittites may have existed in some form during the early days of the Israelite kingdoms, but they were no threat at that time.
This book tells us about the Hittites whose kingdom was in the area of modern Turkey. We are told what we know today and what we are missing, about the Bronze and Iron Ages, their contemporaries, and their many achievements. For a while, they rivaled Egypt and Babylon.

Ron E. Bowman: This is by far and away my favorite of the Hourly History series. This civilization has always intrigued me. And as a history buff, this was right on the mark. These people were a lot more like our civilization in the USA than one would think. For instance their purpose was perpetual war, but unlike parallel civilizations, they were more democratic and humane. The author sites his sources in his book & manages to include as many details of this mysterious culture than one could imaging in a mere 50 pages. At least I thought it was 50 pages. When I started this, I was hoping for a brief reprieve from one of my doomsday ‘Prepper Novels’, 10 days later I’m finally finished. But although longer than the others, each & every page held fascinating nuggets of history I never knew before. The book begins with Sir Lawrence of Arabia’s real reason to be in this area of the world : to recover artifacts & tablets revealing their world. Hittites were remarkable in their tedious their near complete record collecting by scribes that left us excellent historical accounts. Their contemporaries were the Egyptian, Assyrian, and Babylonian empires of the second millennium BCE....
