PAUL J.: Nicely arranged and consider. A great introduction to the Greek gods and demigods. Will help in choosing future works to explore.

LuvLeighAn: All the books I am getting the pages are wavy, why?
I just ordered a bunch of different books from different people. and they are all weather damaged. The pages (both hard back and paperback) are wavy, which happens when the books are in a moist area too long.
And two where left o u t s i d e in the rain, the d r i v e r never told me they where there. And the books where only protracted by a thin paper.
But I do not recall which two books it was.
But all the books the pages are wavy.
The paper the books are made out of are cheap ad will not last long, if they are already deformed - all the books should be new.
I have not yet read any of the books as I have heavy books sitting on top of them all trying to flatten the books

Angela May: Okay so ~
The book is very aesthetically pleasing. It’s thinner than I thought it would be but nonetheless it compacts a lot of information.
If you’re looking for something not massively in depth then this is great. It’s not so much a “Greek mythology 101” (as I’d hoped it might be), but it does give a good starting point to the myths and gods and goddesses, as well as vital figures involved within those myths without going fully into them or overanalysing them. It’s light, easy to read. I started reading it a few hours ago (on and off to do other things) and will probably have finished it by tonight.
For the most part, the authors analysing is fab. My only complaint is that it mentions about the green pantheon and Olympians as being a male patriarchal system. And this has been mentioned easily more than 5x within the book, then going on to speak about how the women are equally as important and superior in many ways and I just feel those kinds of opinions may not be necessary within this type of “Greek mythology for beginners” book. Maybe that’s just me looking for something more factual than opinionated, who knows!

Mau soto: Like other reviews say, it is in fact compact but powerful. This Greek Mythology book is an easy smooth read, with great detail and explanation on all there is to know about the Greek Gods and Goddesses and everything in between. I’ve been into greek mythology for a while now and this book went in depth into topics i didn’t really know much about, even when i thought i knew most of it. It is so interesting and engaging that you’ll probably finish it in one sitting. I highly recommend as a starter or as a concise overall book.

The Dark Lord: Very nicely done.
This covers it all, makes a plunge profound, and relates the point in a way that is drawing in and instructive.
It is an all out page turner.
Humanity consistently appears to require something to turn upward to, (to keep us in line?), saints, animals that are more noteworthy than we are. Religion gives comparable structure to us also, and there are extraordinary equals, in my brain, between most religions and folklore.
An overwhelming undertaking without a doubt to handle the Greek divine beings and goddesses, yet here it is finished with style and detail, giving far beyond I anticipated.
With a compact timetable that presents the characters all through their development/birth, it assisted me with getting a handle on the family structure and elements such a great amount of in a way that is better than the grim books read before.
This is a brief yet far reaching review of Greek folklore. I have been intrigued by the whole subject since school, there are fights for power, skewer measured consciences, desires for youth and magnificence, and furies unreasonable, with the inescapable dismal or terrible outcomes.

Luis David Aguirre Flores: Greek mythology is a topic that had always interested me but I previously had only read basic information about it. When I found this book, it immediately caught my attention. Not only it is a great beginners guide like the title says, but it goes way more in depth than what I thought. It was a great read and left me wanting to know all more there is about greek mythology.

John: I’ve always wanted to learn about mythology but didn’t go to college and I wasn’t exposed to it in high school. Kept my attention and I felt like I know have a basic knowledge of Greek Mythology. It’s a pretty easy read and well worth the money.
