Douglas HarringtonDouglas Harrington: Alzheimer's disease took the life of the nicest woman who ever walked the earth (my mother.) I work with senior citizens and see what this disease does to other families, too. I have a shelf in my library with a collection of books on the subject. Most of them are big, thick books with way too much, undigestible information that only a researcher could understand. I have only read parts of all of them. But this book is completely different.
Broken down into easy to read sections, Alzheimer's Through the Stages gives you bullet points on what to look for, what's coming next, things you can do, and quotes that remind us of ways to stay positive. You can put this book down and pick it up, open to a stage of development, and it still makes sense. You don't need a PhD to read it.
Well written and easy to read, this is the most useful book on Alzheimer's disease for any caregiver. It is a tough subject, but this book makes it easier to understand. It gives the caregiver the tools needed to fight the good fight. And ways to stay positive in a difficult situation.
