Miss E. A. Carpio O'Connor: I highly recommend this book for any woman who is starting out on what can be a complex phase of her life. It's given me peace of mind and has given me the knowledge to help myself and understand what is the best course for me. Or at least to see the options available.

Lsd: oh my goodness, this book saved my sanity! My OBGYN prescribed pemarin for my vaginal dryness, rawness, discharge and painful Intercouse. It did not help at all... I kept calling back to the office , they kept upping my usage of Premarin. I was miserable! Finally after 4 months of misery, I remembered reading this book years ago. I lost the book after several moves, So purchased the revised addition! I read it like a bible and picked the natural products that spoke to me. In '1' days time, I started to get relief! I am just in my 3rd week. My body is almost back to my pre peri menopausal self. I am so very thankful to have found this book. When I go back to my OBGYN in 2 weeks, I am taking this book and the products I am using, to educate her. Not all women can use the one size fits all Premarin.

KELLY EBERHARDT:
My therapist noticed I have been more weepy, cranky, tired, and fatter than usual. I mentioned that I'm very much nose-diving into Menopause and I am out of control. She recommended this book. Before I was out of the parking lot of her office, ordered it from my mobile device. The next day, This BIBLE shows up at my door! I spent about a week flipping through it, completely overwhelmed and unable to process that there is THIS MUCH information about the undoing of my hormones. I mostly just showed it to people in horror. "This is what's happening to me! I need a manual?!" Honestly, the tome really scared the crap out of me. When I was entering puberty, I got a little pink booklet, no more than 10 pages, and it was mostly illustration.
After a week of griping, I settled in and decided to read some of it. I was hooked. Dr. Northrup has done a ton of research and she covers every possible angle of this transition. Now I'm not as overwhelmed. I am more prepared and this Meno-thing is not going to be the end of me.I have already dog- eared pages that I return to over and over. Dr. Northrup not only gives you the science, she brings a great deal of...

Ellen: Superb! A book with a true healing power. Helps you to understand and take steps to heal your life on all levels while going through the change. I loved Women's body women's wisdom which thought me so much in my younger years and i love The wisdom of menopause as much! I think this book can help every woman, whether she is interested in purely getting rid of uncomfortable symptoms, or she goes through spiritual and emotional transformation.

RC Satterfield: I have read other books by Christiane Northrup, MD. But, I hadn't read this one until my sister recommended I read it for some of my symptoms of menopause. Why I didn't think of it myself, I can't say. But, I'm glad I finally did. I have taken her advice and am on my way to relieving my hot flashes and low libido. I like to know how things work and especially how our bodies work with nature. I have been in menopause for at least 5 years (best guess) and have been plagued with hot flashes, and more recently with night sweats. The low libido has been a symptom since peri-menopause. I just figured my only options were going on synthetic hormones, which I'd tried and it didn't work. But, I was also dealing with heavy bleeding which was unpleasant and life-disrupting. I just went off of everything under doctor's supervision. The bleeding finally stopped. I kept thinking the hot flashes would subside. But, they haven't. My poor husband is not happy with my lack of libido. So, at my wits end, I started reading The Wisdom of Menopause. I'm so thankful to Dr. Northrup for her common sense, medical knowledge and her advice from personal experience. I'm now using...

Epicure:
I bought the book because most of my friends have gone through menopause and I thought I might be missing some of the more subtle symptoms. My friends and I are around the same age (52) but I have yet to have one symptom. Some of my friends who are 6 or 7 years younger have already started going through it. I feel a little left out! The book says that you can expect your menopause to mirror that of your mom's and so far mine does. My mom was 58 when she was declared by her doctor to be in menopause. She never had mood disorders and she never got fat or depressed. She sailed through the transition and was very pleasant to be around (unlike other family members on my husband's side). There were no hot flashes, night sweats or histrionics where she shut herself in her bedroom all weekend. Even now, at 71, she is sharp as a tack, has an awesome size 2 body and gorgeous, supple skin.
The only thing I recognize would be the emotional transition of coming into your own and not putting up with other people's b.s. I have jettisoned a few energy vampires from my life and am much happier for it. My love life, with my husband of almost 20 years, is fabulous and I...
