JC Howorth: Both types of connector are with the same predicament that I didn't consider before purchasing this unit. The sensor lights display is only on one side so when you're trying to plug this into something that's solid such as your truck bumper All of the Lights and sensor readouts face down and you can't see what the results are displaying. This should be rebuilt at the factory with display on both sides to alleviate this problem. I had to buy an extender soft cable to flip over the visuals that I could see what the reading actually was in my case. That's not a very good explanation but hopefully that gets the point across to some of you. In the end it turns out that it was a fuse for my turn signal under the hood. Didn't know that turn signals had fuses

Mike: No need for test light or multimeter. This makes it quick and easy to check your tow vehicles plug to make sure you have power to all pins. I hooked up my trailer and found that the left turn signal wasn't working. Plugged the adapter into the 7 pin on my truck and found no power at the plug for the left turn signal. Fuse for trailer left turn signal was blown at power center under the hood. Replaced fuse and all is good. Took less than 5 mins to diagnose and fix.
For those who complained that the led lights faced down when they plug the adapter in means the trailer plug on your truck might be installed upside down. The key way on your trailer plug needs to be at the 12 o'cloxk position.

Dan R.: I bought the RV Trailer Circuit Tester because twice I discovered a blown fuse in my truck that preventing the trailer lights from working. Now, if it happens again, I can check the electrical source to pinpoint the problem. It was easy to read in full daylight, which was also a plus. Being able to check four or seven pin connections makes it even more versatile.
