Thomas: Works well for a bathroom fan
The biggest advantages that you do not need a hot and a neutral wire to the switch
This type of time or works better to install in an existing bathroom as you only need the neutral switch to wires to make this timer work

Brad S: Home is older and not 4 wired (with neutral). Timer provided a low tech, inexpensive fix to my 3 wire dilemma… very happy with purchase.
Cons:
Material quality isn’t bad but should be better for a switch meant for a higher traffic area like a bathroom.
The instructions suffer a bit from “translation “ but include an all important QR Code that links to a YouTube video; found it Installed very easily and cleanly - 30 minutes start to finish.
Timer is loud but fan drowns it out. Keeps ticking only for a few seconds after fan turns off.

MG: I bought this to replace a worn--out whole house attic fan 60min timer that no longer turned past 15mns.
Pretty sure the previous owner had a habit of turning the dial counter clock-wise, which is a big no-no for any of these dial timers. However it is a testament to the build quality of the vintage unit as it only failed after 30 years of use and abuse.
Although not as sturdy and beefy as the 30 y.o original part, it was a direct &easy no- brainer ,two wire installation. This item did come with instructions, so slow down and take a few moments to read them just to be sure that you have some idea of what you're doing.
Again the feel of this unit is not as sturdy as the old one--the dial turns quite easily against the lightweight coil spring and feels a bit delicate as you turn it to set the run time. The clicks of the cog wheels as the dial is turned seem very soft and not very positive. No way would I believe that it would endure many counter-clock-wise rotations and continue to function.
As it is , this unit does function well and with responsible use , should last quite a while if used properly--i.e no counter clock-wise dial turning.

David Pierce: I installed one of these to control my back porch flood lighting. I basically only use it when I take the dog out in the evening for nighttime fetch, and I often forget to turn the lights off afterwards. These are pretty cool because they're completely mechanical - they don't require a neutral connection like "smart" or pushbutton timer switches. Just crank and walk away. So in my older house, with, shall we say, odd and maybe noncode wiring? Definite plus
Other reviews mention the ticking sound as the timer counts down, but it doesn't bother me much - I live on a fairly busy street, and it just blends in with the background noise and my wall clocks. Also, contrary to some other reviews, the switches I received do allow you to manually turn the switch off by rotating it all the way counterclockwise. It deactivates immediately but continues making a ticking noise for several seconds.
The main complaint I have is in the installation - the switch casing is fairly large and basically fills a single gang box, with little room for wires and/or wire nuts. I was eventually able to squeeze everything in there, but if you're installing this in a single-gang box, you might want...

Allen D. ReineckeAllen D. Reinecke: The media could not be loaded. I needed a timer for my bathroom exhaust fan. I tried a digital one and it didn’t work out of the box. When you have no neutral wire, your options are limited. I decided to try this UltraPro mechanical timer.
.
It was a little confusing at first as to how this is assembled into the wall. The instructions are basic. You remove the knob (it just pulls off), remove the nut and disassemble the front plate from the main body. Install the main body in the switch box, after removing the original switch. Place the original switch plate over the main body and place the timer plate over that. The nut sandwiches the switch plate and timer plate to the body and holds it all in place. After tightening the nut, replace the knob and you’re done. It works well. Just don’t pull on the knob as it will come off with a reasonable pull, as it’s only held on by plastic-to-metal friction.
.
The knob has to be turned past the indicator arrow to actually switch on the fan/light. However, it will also switch off the fan/light at the arrow when it counts down, ticking as it goes, and it continues ticking until the 5 minutes of that electrical dead...

Aaron Hansen: For the low price I bought it, the UltraPro 60-Minute Countdown in-Wall Timer 2 Pack is a bargain solution. The only problem I had installing it was figuring out how to put the cover plate on. It looks great and works well most of the time. However, if you don't hear the timer ticking, you must give it a slight twist towards Off to get the timer to count down. Otherwise, the switch never turns off.

Cameron B GarlandCameron B Garland: Price is good for 2 of them but the colour is closer to almond than white. The package contains another face plate and dial that are even more almond. I'm not sure how these are marketed as white... It's also pretty loud but if you have to use a mechanical timer (no neutral) there's not a whole lot you can do about it.

Dodge guy: I like the almond vs white faceplate choice & quick delivery. The price was great & it’s easily installed. The ones at Lowes look better, but are ridiculous at $30. These look & feel kinda cheap, but appear to work just fine. So I put one on my shop bathroom vent fan
