michael: These are just as good quality as the used surplus ones. They are also new and don't smell of the typical unknown chemicals etc that previously were loaded into the surplus ones...these appear to be made overseas and therefore are not authentic but the are compatible with the surplus ones. Mine stacks nicely with them and is water proof. I tested it submerged in my laundry sink...no leaks. These are good for storing bolts, nuts and screws etc and they look a lot cooler than cheap plastic bins. I wouldn't store food in them as i don't know the composition of the paint they are painted with. I'm currently transforming one into a first aid kit to keep in my jeep.

K Larson: A lot of people buy this to be a quench tank for smithing, knifemaking, or other hobbies.
It's very sturdy, the lid is fantastic.

However, the corners of this box are not sealed. You may need to get creative to fill the voids before pouring your very expensive quench oil into this bad boy.
I tried tape on the outside and it did not hold up and I started getting leaks. Inside putty or something might be a better bet.

Sparta: These are good quality compared to most out there. Much much better than the cans sold at a certain popular superstore which in recent times has begun sourcing cans of a much lower quality and it is immediately evident. Fit and finish is good, sturdy, seal works, latch works well. These are as close as it gets to genuine USGI surplus cans.

Nicholas Pettinato: This seems to be a quality ammo can. What can really go wrong? It holds what it needs to hold, nothing has rusted (I've had them for 2+ years) or tarnished inside (I mostly use brass). Recommended!

Dan: I don't know why some people are saying it's not good. I find it quite well made considering the low price. The sticker that's got alot of negative remarks came off very easily. It's a plastic sticker, perhaps they used a paper one before. This one came off with a firm constant pull. Hopefully if my Li-Po batteries that I'm storing in it decide to go poof, this will contain the damage to the Can and not burn the house down! Beware...the lid separates from the can easily. I found that out the hard way! Both the Can and the floor survived.
