Whale: Our steel cable has two problems. The first is that there are a few kinks that happen when the steel rope drops down between wraps. This causes broken wires which cut you if you don't have gloves and just plain annoying if you do have gloves. A weak spot for sure. The other problem is that the steel cable wants to expand and "birdnest" on you if you don't have tension on the cable and you are on the first or second wrap. The synthetic cable makes these problems go away. Very nice soft cable that is very easy to work with. Other pieces that came with the synthetic rope are also nice and work well. My first synthetic winch rope.

Dudelove87: I bought this rope to replace my metal winch cable that would slice your hands. This came with decent instructions and seems sturdy and strong. I haven’t actually had to use it to pull my Grizzly out yet so I can’t say for sure but I will update if it fails me. I like that it is easier to work with than the cable, also like the rubber stopper.

GMAC: Easy to install, I'm glad I went with 50 ft couldn't get much more on the spool if I tried. Haven't put it through a real test yet so I can't speak to the durability although it seems it will do fine and nice not to get jiggers off the old cable every time you pull it out.
