Andrew Lister: A quick immersion in water and my phone was soaking wet, turned it off waited a few hours for it to dry as thoroughly as possible. While the phone received calls and messages the camera function was fuzzy, could see small amounts of condensation in the lense. Saw a utube video recommending use of silicone packages to dry out a phone, placed the phone camera lens down on top of this product and sealed off using a plastic zipper freezer bag. Left for 12 hours, and the camera function was completely restored. A fortunate piece of good luck.

JRK: I use two of these in my refrigerator at my camp when I close up for the winter. After three years there has been zero mold or mildew in a closed unit. I recharge them in the fall by baking them at 175 degrees F. for four hours. That gets the residual moisture out and sets them up for a new season. Store in a sealed plastic bag to prevent excess moisture accumulation over the summer.

CD: I ordered several of these for a storage unit (to keep it as dry/odor free as possible).
The beads are in a cloth-like bag, basically very very large versions of what you get in your shoe boxes!!!

The bags are easily balled up, folded, or flattened to fit where you need them.
Each bag is rated for 32 square feet, so I ended up ordering enough to accommodate my 5ft x 15ft x 10ft storage unit (needed 24 bags, orded 34 total).

My unit didn't smell or feel damp to begin with, but even with the recent rain hammering the southern states, everything appears to have remained dry & undamaged by humidity --- which is HUGE!!!

I'm using my storage unit to store wedding supplies, as well as seasonal items... I'm SO impressed with these bags!!!

I'm rating as 4 stars, because the handling/packaging could have been better. Who ever filled my box with my order actually ruptured 4 of the cloth bags, so the beads from those 4 bags were loose inside the clear shipping bag.
