M Y.: I was able to find a screw to replace the missing one. All is good now. I wish that the screw was longer to enable me to fit thick materials into the hoop.

Daisy Leucanthamum: I use these for embroidery and mending clothes. It is nice to have the smaller ones which fit my hands easily. The bigger ones will come in handy for larger projects. The frames are easy to adjust to the thickness of the material and when tightened, stay tightened while needed.

MorgieMorgie: These hoops are great for large projects. My only beef with them is what others have taken issue with--that you're unable to get the fabric to be held taut inside these hoops. No matter how tightly you screw it closed, it won't stay taut on the sides. Still, these work very well for my cross stitch needs.

OntarioAngel: The inside pieces could benefit from having a ridge on one side to help keep them from slipping through the outside pieces. I bought a plastic, round hoop from my local store a handful of years ago & it has a ridge that is great at keeping the fabric from slipping through.
These hoops could also benefit from having their touching edges have a more rough surface, because they’re too smooth, and that also helps to contribute to the inside hoop just slipping out of the outside one and not holding the fabric as taught as I wanted for machine embroidery.
They also could benefit from having the ribbed screw head be a little bigger. My fingers are fairly nimble, but the small heads made it difficult to screw the outer hoops as tight and as quick as I wanted.
All this is why I knocked off one star.
BUT I was able to get my sewing machine embroidery projects done more quickly than what I was previously using and the large rectangular shapes greatly helped with that! They are easy to use once you get the hang of them, and the larger shapes are just what I needed for my embroidery projects!
