GrantGrant: I grabbed these to slide over the pickup on my filter to prevent it from sucking in and killing my shrimp. It works great and was a very affordable solution. I haven't tried to clean them, but at this price, you can just throw them away when they get too dirty.

Kristin: I liked this product a lot! I have shrimp and baby fish in my tank and it protects them from getting sucked j to the filter . It fits my 10 gallon tank and 5 gallon tank so I like that a lot ! Easy to clean you can wash them and re use till super dirty or just put a new one in . The only thing I don’t like is they fall off kinda easy but if u have it on right then it’s fine .

Robert Fleener: I ordered these to cover the filter inlet on a Tetra Whisper IQ filter in one of my Shrimp tanks. It is also a grow out tank for Endlers so I wanted a pre-filter sponge that will accumulate beneficial bacteria and prevent shrimp and fish fry from getting sucked into the filter and this does the job perfectly! Highly recommend.

Tech_eaze: Bought this pre-filter sponge to protect tiny fish in my tank. The hole is a little big for the Aqua Clear 30 aka 150 intake pipe. Hacked it by using a zip tie around the filter intake pipe and now the pre-filter sponge stays in place. Works well so far.
Would suggest buying a sponge with smaller inner diameter for the Aqua Clear 30 formerly Aqua Clear 150 filter. However this works fine with the zip tie. Some people have also tied Rubber bands at the top to hold it in place and protect the frys from being sucked in.

ABAB: For some reason in my 4 pack I got 1 that was way smaller than the other ones the hole is smaller the diameter is smaller , not sure how you can mess that up , clearly care more about the money than quality control

it will do the job as a pre filter, for a while.
flaws
cannot use it long term. if youre going away for a week. it might get clogged.
as a daily pre if youre into your tank, no problems just clean it youre good.
if youre just into feeding and go , or not around much BAD IDEA> it will clog up and your filter media is dead.
cannot recommend unless you're not going away anytime. use aquarium coop version larger holed pre for continuous flow.
