Evan: I use this gate to keep my 80lb black lab in a certain room when I'm not home. Lucky for me, he isn't very persistent and has respected the gate enough to not tear it down. At one point, he did chew on it for a while, but it actually held up and didn't tear.

Installation is pretty straightforward, but I don't like that one side of the bracket can be screwed into a stud, but the other one has to then go into a drywall anchor. Just make sure the side on the stud is on the OUTSIDE of the gate, that will lessen the chance of it being ripped out of the wall.

I saw some other concerns about the retraction mechanism too. So far, after daily use for a few months, it rewinds just as well as the first time. Zero complaints.

Amazon Customer: Spring is strong and installs easily but lock is touchy, can be difficult to unlock. So far so good.

Bruno V.Bruno V.: For real this is one of the best buys I have ever done. This is easy to install and it's sturdy. My dog is hold and she is used to not try to escape too much. But locking mechanism helps into preventing the bottom from being pushed. This is safe yall!!

Must buy! (Only had to add a block because the hooks came short of the 4x4 - not a concern to me)

DanielleDanielle: I was nervous switching from a hard plastic gate to the mesh. The mesh is tight so my 11month can stand and push against it without fear of it giving out. Also keeps my 3 Labradors downstairs, which is a bonus!

J.M.: It looks well made, but the width of the brackets are a little too wide for me to use on my deck stairs without figuring out a way to jury rig it. I’ll either need to add a couple of pieces of wood, or find a bracket/clamp of some sort.

Eric: Using on deck steps and ramp. They work nice, we will have to see how they weather, since they are being used outside. They mount with plastic brackets to the posts. One cracked while mounting. I used it anyway. Like I said in the title - lots of plastic.

DeadEndCity: lets start with the only CON i have for this : the bracket system is stupidly badly designed. The bracket to mount this to the wall is about 3inch and a half wide with both screw hole being 3 inch apart and you are suppose to screw the bracket to a stud, stud bein 1inch and a half wide... its pretty dumb. The hole should have been put vertically on this instead of horizontal.

Ive fixed this buy screwing a diamond shaped piece of plywood in a stud first and then screwed the bracket to it.

Pros :
Other than that it works great its pretty sturdy to resist the multiple invasion attempt of our daughter into the stairs.

You can opperate easily with one hand you unlock it first then just unhook the gate.

it comes with two set of bracket so you can move the gate around as needed and its pretty easy to do so.

the bottom bracket is adjustable to make it fit over wall trimm if needed.

Adressing other comment:
i guess you could use this for pets too but manage your expectation. ive had a dog who once "dug" through a wall to make its way in the entrance closet and then did the same thing to said closet door to escape a closed room. So even though...

Christopher Kepner: I would only recommend this product to dogs that wont try to pass the gate.

I needed a gate that would keep the dog out, was able to cover a large entry way, easy to have acess to the gated space, and easy to remove/store. And this works! Love how I am able to easily remove the whole roll from the bracket to clean under it or hide it when we have a party.

Installation was easy. Once step up, I lock the gate in place so the mesh wouldn't uncoil. My dog tested the gate by gently pushing the mesh with his nose. Once he saw it didn't easily give he walked away.

The mesh itself isn't the most sturdy material. If your dog is adamant on getting through they will.

My only concert is how long the recoil will last as I did see some commenters having trouble but so far it works fine. Will update yall when it gives
