3-in-1 Camping Lantern with Solar-Powered Bug Zapper

M L: I needed something to take care of mosquitoes in the yard. The unit would not have access to electricity so I needed one that was waterproof and would be solar charged. This one also have the capability of being charged in the house which I did. Then I hung it outside to be able to continue to solar charge. I turned it on the first night but it will not stay on. Every time I turn it on it will go off within 10-15 minutes. I turn it back on and it goes off again. I have followed the operating directions to the letter and it will not stay on. Also when it is on the lights on the zapping panel do not light up completely, just 3 or 4 places will light up so I would think this whole zapping area is not working either. Needless to say I will be returning the zapper.

Marc: Battery lasted about 6 hours with just the zapper on, zapper worked great. Solar panel didn't charge the battery. Charged via cable, haven't used again, yet.

RP: It came on time, and appeared new out of the box. That’s always a plus when ordering from Amazon. The unit has all the options that were advertised. It has a camp light that has a high, low and SOS setting. It has a bug zapper light that really works. You can recharge the battery with a usb cord or solar. That’s where I have an issue. My second day of of using this, I tried the “solar” cell to recharge the unit. As far as I’m concerned, that option is useless. It just didn’t recharge using the solar cell. If you are ok with plugging it in to a 110 volt outlet with a USB adapter, and are in no need of the solar cell for recharging, then this is ok.

Sandyk: I liked the price of the bug zapper. On the less expensive side, but I have a big back yard completely surrounded by flower beds with ornamental shrubs and grasses, and I needed some insect relief! Th e unit arrived, and it was about 75% charged. I attached it to my USB charger with the enclosed cord, and it worked flawlessly. The BLUE light tells when it is fully charged, and I set the unit outside. ZAP! ZAP! It was less than 5 minutes when we HEARD the first ZAPS. They are LOUD, and the insects are gone. I am really impressed! The entire back porch (about 15 X 25 feet) was cleared of critters in short order enabling my wife and I to sit on the porch and enjoy the evening breezes WITHOUT any buzzing, biting, or swiping at the bugs! GREAT little bug Zapper for very little money. Will further inform when the wetter weather gets here.
