26Lbs/24H Portable Ice Maker with Self-Cleaning Function - FREE VILLAGE Countertop Machine

Ron K.: My wife and I go through a lot of ice in a week so naturally we bought a refrigerator with built in ice and water. Well that lasted all of a few months. We resorted to buying bagged ice from the grocery store and kept in the ice reservoir of our fridge. We looked into other alternatives and discovered this wonderful portable ice machine. We couldn't be happier. Admittedly we keep it in the basement next to our box deep freezer so the noise really isn't an issue. That said, the noise is barely audible anyway. There are a couple of things to consider although neither is a deal breaker. The machine produces about 9 bullet shaped cubes every six to seven minutes. Once the ice is dropped into the basket there is no refrigeration so it comes out a bit wet and starts to defrost immediately. We also purchased some ice bags so we visit the machine about every half hour or so during the time we are running the machine. Place the ice in the bag and drop it into the adjacent freezer. The second issue is the fact it takes most of the day to fill one 8 pound ice bag. So while it will make 24 pounds of ice a day...you would have to run it all day and night to do so. D. Michna: Well UPS delivered it and the Box clearly was marked with arrows but they didn't deliver it with those arrows being up. I'm over 60 and I'm disabled the box is heavy but I carried it halfway in and then I just set it down on the ground and then I put it on my wheelchair and I pushed it in because though I'm disabled I still can walk just not long ways. So I pushed it up my ramp got in the house rested a while and then opened the Amazon box. Where in I found another box from the maker where that box was on its side even though it was clearly marked up so it was never in the upright position as the manufacturer needs because Amazon just disregarded that fact and so did UPS will UPS didn't know because they only paid attention to what Amazon said but yet they didn't even pay attention to the upmarks when they delivered it to me. So I got it and I read the instructions and it said to let it sit for an hour or more before you use it to let the coolant settle due to shipment and everything which I did. And though I could smell coolant I I washed it and everything and I was surprised. The ice cubes don't taste like coolant and the first batch even if you said it at large the first batch...

Mawmaw: I bought this to replace a Fridgedaire ice machine that I bought 2 years ago. I was not happy because I had to give up my blue one. That being said, it makes ice faster and more ice than the other one did when it was brand new. I have not tried the self-clean mode yet but I didn’t have it on the other one. The only noise is ice dropping on the plastic. It is much quieter than the other. I really like the light when it needs water. If there is any change, I will update, but as of now it is a great purchase.

Update—It is now not quite 10 months since I ordered the ice machine and it has quit working. The part that goes up in front of the cylinders will not move. It worked wonderfully until one day it just quit. The warning lights are not on, the exhaust is not blocked, only distilled water has been used in it.

SaraSara: I love ice! I don’t have a ice making fridge and don’t have the patience for ice trays making this machine a great investment. I was used to buying bag ice at the food store at least once a week which I didn’t not enjoy because of the plastic bags I was throwing away. The machine is quiet, takes up little counter space and makes ice quickly. I usually focus on making all my ice for the week in one day and then bought a bin for the freezer same as if I had an ice maker. The machine is quiet and usually the only noise I hear is the sound of the cubes dropping into the ice bucket. One thing to note is, the ice bucket does NOT keep the ice cold so if you don’t use the ice right away or move it to the freezer it will melt and be recycled within the machine to make more ice. I did the math and by purchasing this machine I am not only saving money, but also reducing my plastic usage which is a win for me!
