25 Screw-On Climbing Holds from Rocky Mountain Climbing Gear (B5-BQD7-234H)

H. C.: These look awesome and were a great addition to our tree fort for the kids ages 6-10. After occasional use over a year’s time, many of the holds have broken. Now my kids are scared to go up them for fear they’ll break when they’re halfway up the tree. I’m hesitant to replace with the same item, but they really were great to start. They’re supposed to be weatherproof and the heaviest person on them was maybe 85 lbs, but maybe they would be best for indoor use.

ktm5: I bought these for my son to make a rock climbing tree! yes on our tree. these screw on holds work just as they said with the #10 screws. we got 2 1/2 inch screws and they even hold my body weight at 200 lbs. The hold actually feel like rocks, not plastic like the colored ones. The holds are way more realistic than anything you would ever find at a playground. they give nice level of difficulty making it more enjoyable than just climbing and easy wall. My son has been climbing the tree at least an hour everyday since we bought it. the quality plus the price of these cannot be matched. I think we may order another box to go higher up in the tree.

NG: Only 3/5 stars because we only received 10/25 holds in the box. Company shipped out remaining holds once the problem was communicated (arriving 2 weeks later). Quality is great!

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: I had some issues with shipping around black Friday and the company replied within minutes to my emails! They were super friendly and understanding. The shipping issue was quickly resolved and the product is great. As some have mentioned, the holds are not large but medium. Also, no nuts and bolts - but how can the company know what length you need? Also, nuts and bolts are heavy and someone has to pay for shipping.

Tiffani diveley: Perfect! Worth the extra shipping cost. Nice texture for easy grip. There is an odor, but I just left them outside for a few hours, and it was gone. I attached these to one of our trees outside. The kids love it! The only thing I regret is not buying more from the start. So, I just ordered another set of 25 so my younger daughter has an easier time, and I will add some to our other tree. My advice, get more then you think you will want or need.

KeviKevi: These were fantastic. I used these on a pirate ship I built for my sons. They loved using them and there were completely solid and well constructed. Maybe a few more variations would have been nice but honestly you get quite a lot of different ones. It did have that smell that people have talked about but after a couple days outside I never noticed it again. I myself was able to use them and climb up them without any problems.
You do have to supply your own screws. I just used the deck screws I was using to build the boat. It was simple enough to do. High recommend these rocks. Great product!

Amazon Customer: We built a climbing wall for the kids last week on the end of the swing set by mounting a 4'x8' sheet of exterior plywood vertically. We then screwed these holds to it using tee nuts. 25 pieces was the perfect amount to make it really easy on the right side and more difficult on the left. The holds look very much like real rock and are "rock solid" when bolted this way. The rough finish allows for a non slip grip. The only thing that I didn't like was the center distance from hole to hole was not the same on all the holds. Most were 7/8 but there were a few 1" and 1-1/8". Also a few did not have the countersink hole drilled deep enough to allow the screw to reach the t-nut so I had to drill those a little deeper. Both of these were very minor issues and easily overcome.
This is a real review not a paid for "advertisement" that seems to have become the norm in the reviews. Hope it helps anyone else looking to build a climbing wall.
