Connie Hughes: I had a smaller roll of this from years ago which I had attached to my heat ducts coming out of the furnace, & that reduced heat loss. My garage door gets afternoon-evening sun & needed some kind of insulation that would not interfere with the garage door opener... it couldn't be too heavy. I measured & cut pieces to fit the contours of the door, & used a staple gun to attach it to the wooden door. I tried to do it myself, but ended up needing help, as it was too much for 1 person to do alone (my arms got tired). I think it reduced the temperature by 5-10 degrees in summer, & in winter, seems to help with insulating as well. It comes in a big roll, & we used the top of a chest freezer to lay it out on, & the straight edges of the freezer made it easy to measure & cut straight lines. The box (with some holes cut in it) made a great cat play box.

A: Since 2020 I put this on TOP of my skylights every summer for about 3 months (secured in place with stainless clips)

subject to hot sun, dust, and occasional rain over 3 years I see no deterioration or wear at all. really great product.

Excellent product, highly recommend!!! I cut this with shears and fitted to my RV windows and it immediately blocked the outside cold. I felt the difference in 10 mins, while working in my RV at night. Wow! Talk about insulation.

In RV window application, if window does not open, then cut to fit inside of window frame as there is a hollow section it can tuck into. You will have to trim corners to fit window curved edges. Tuck in, and pull out easily when not needed.

For windows where you slide them open, cut to fit outside of window, so cut larger by 1-2 inches around window size. If you cut to window size, you will have to use velcro on edges of window glass to hold them up. If you cut to outside, stick velcro to walls and stick this on.

Works with blinds or curtains. Easy to remove. Immediate insulation. Good blackout curtains for boondocking in stealth mode. Cuts out heat and cold and UV damage. Does not permit good air circulation through windows, so not the...

Erik J. McCullough: So like others, I had this idea to insulate the garage doors with this product. It's really easy.

The first thing upon receiving the order was that it was going to be too wide of a strip for the garage door. Like most garage doors I've seen in the past few weeks, however, it's the perfect size. The reason is that my garage door also has a curved pocket on the top and bottom. It's probably about 18-20" of door, and another 4-6" extra that will fit into the U like pocket at the top and the bottom. This allowed me to push the material in and keep it taut so that it won't fall out. So, this is the perfect width of product, you just need to cut the length of the product to the width of your garage door panels.

Like others, I did use double sided carpet tape, although I did so because everyone else did. I don't think that is really necessary, if you have the U shaped pockets at the edges. There's no way it moves and so it did very little. The garage door now moves a bit slower, not much -- it's really not that heavy --- probably adds 20 lbs to the garage door. Also most garage doors have an adjustment to deal with tension. I haven't run into that yet.
