Todd in Toronto: Easy to program (just watch the Youtube videos) and has worked flawlessly so far (over a month).

Franko: The module in my key fob has failed after 10-12 years, at first I thought it was the battery but after changing the old battery with a new one the module still didn’t respond. I used my key to open and lock my Honda Pilot for a few years till I got tired of it. I bought this aftermarket key fob and swamped the module to my old key and everything worked perfectly fine! For those ratings that say the instructions are not clear, you need to view a few videos to see how to program your remote. I programmed mines in less than 5 minutes and made sure everything works as intended.

A: Works great! Beats getting ripped off else where, like for more than $200 at the dealer. I did what other reviewers wrote, I didn't need a key cut so I just swapped the inside part into my old key fob plastic case, followed the programming instructions, and it worked! I forgot to press the lock button on the last step because I was only doing one key and got a little confused with instructions, so it did not program the first time, but I started all over again and it worked!! I will most likely buy another one to have a working spare fob. My original fobs died after 10 and 12 years. Btw, the new fob buttons inner part has a little square on the side that is a chip, from what I read elsewhere, I just snapped that piece off because my old key fob case has one in it, attached to the original plastic case, that I figured was working, and it was working, after programming, so I didn't need the one in the new fob. I figured if my old one didn't work after programming, I'd still have the new one available. If this sounds confusing, you'll know what I mean once you see yours if you order one. There's also good videos on how to do the programming online.

Casey: 2 things you have to do with these keys. 1 you have to program it, and 2 you have to take it to your local hardware store to have them cut the key. Both of these are easy enough. Key fits in the ignition and turns the ignition to the start position. Chip is programmed. It will lock and unlock the vehicle. Transponder chip in new key does not Sync with the Steering column and therefore will not start the vehicle! It will foul your plugs and kill your battery if you keep trying but it will not start the car. 20 for the key, 20 to have the key cut at the hardware store! Does not work. You live you learn! More Chinese Made Garbage!

tomas camblor: So it should be known that I have a 2006 Honda Pilot. I tried every possible way to program this key fob with no success. Customer service asked if I tried to disconnect the battery for a while as that would erase the key fob memory. Which made no sense to me. If that were true then key fobs all over the world would have to be reprogrammed every time someone did that with their car.
Finally I read somewhere that Honda limits the number of key fobs to two. Don’t know how true that is, but maybe that was why. Also in the same thread, someone said they were able to get the car to go I to programming mode by using their one working key fob and then were able to program the new one.
So that’s what worked for me. Finally! I just wish they would have said that. Not sure what I would have had to do if I didn’t have 1 working key fob. $$$

AmazonCustomer: I used the electronics from this fob in my old fob. I had to enlarge the button holes a little as the buttons on the new fob are slight larger than the original. A few minutes with a pen knife did the trick. Reprogramming took about 3 minutes. In the end I saved almost $150.00 over what Honda wanted to charge me.

T.G. Dubini: The battery in my key died so I grabbed the spare key to use while searching for replacement CR1616 batteries and discovered my second key had a dead fob too. When I received new batteries, I discovered the second fob was actually no longer functioning. After I saw what a dealer or parts store wanted for a replacement, I found this on Amazon and decided to get one to replace the module within the spare key. The key arrived in a few days and with a little minor effort I located and downloaded the programming instructions from the seller website per included instructions. Due to back to back business and personal travel, I didn't get around to this for a few weeks but the weekend after returning home, the original key with a fresh battery died for good too. Looks like 11+ years is all you get from these based on the 2 dead original equipment keys I had. Anyway, I pulled out this replacement, reprinted the programming instructions and after about 3 attempts, got the sequence right and programmed the key fob. Worked like a charm. Unscrewed the casing and popped out the electronics module and replaced the module in my old key. This is where the only issue showed up as...
