Otter: The instructions were just one page of paper with terrible diagrams, and it didn’t explain very well how to set it up and use it. If you already know how to use one of these jacks, I guess it would be fine however, it took me an Internet search and watching videos to figure out how it works. Once I did that, it was very easy and functional.

Court Jester Games: I didn't have high expectations when I purchased this jack, but simply needed the most economical floor jack I could get to quickly remove tires on a compact car. Though economical, the unit I received was not up to the task. Really it's too cheaply constructed to trust with 1-2 tons of lifting. Any sideways force would buckle the lifting arm, and it's a small jack so the base requires an absolutely level surface for stability. Still, if it had worked as advertised I probably would've kept it.

However, out of the box it only lifted about 3" (to 8" overall) I thought it was me, after all it's a floor jack. Not much in the way of controls--just make sure the valve's closed and pump the handle. Yet even after following all directions included for ensuring no air in the hydraulics it would only lift about 5 inches, and that grudgingly. So back it went, and back I went to using my trusty old reliable 25-yo scissor jack.
