P.L.P.L.: This thermometer is adequately accurate for what it should be doing. It is bigger than i expected but most of it is see through so it doesnt feel large on the sides of the tanks. The touch buttons have a bit of a hard time to register input, but since you theoretically use them only once, it did not bother me.

Many reviews speak about the adhesive being too weak. This is not accurate. Unless you place them on a wet surface, you won't have any issue. I stuck one of them a little off level and it bothered me for a few days before I took it off to place it straight. That did take effort to come off, and even after repositioning, the adhesive is strong. Be smart when you place it and you'll be fine.

Bonus for coming with an extra battery.

Melanie: overall this product is pretty good. the temperature is accurate, it isn’t hard to read and it’s pretty easy to use.

the only downside is that the sticky part that sticks to the tank isn’t great. after about a month or so the product fell off the tank and wouldn’t stick to the tank anymore, so i had to buy some double sided tape to fix it.

Having Fun!: Super easy to read & very easy to set the temperature. The cons for this are that there are no directions so keep screen shot of the selling page. They came with dead batteries because they are already in the produce! I have seen this on a number of other reviews as well. It did come with a replacement battery for each so at least you have one to start with.

JETM: Liked the big readout and the outside the tank mounting.
Both really appealing ideas.
But sadly, their transparent windows proved very hard to read against the variable background of the tank interior...
And they both failed simply a few months.
They are completely sealed...so there was no chance to open them up and see if I could fix/restart them somehow.
And it was VERY hard to get their adhesive backings off the glass wall of the tanks.
Pity, really. I liked the concept.
Went back to old fashioned glass tube readout, suction mounted thermometers. $3.99 each.

wilbur: Usually reads a degree lower than the actual temp. Also needs to be continually reset as the temp would just flash zero. Never figured out if it was some kind of alarm as the directions weren't clear and had a hard time trying to mess around with it since the buttons didn't really seem to work. When I tried to move it the tape would not adhere anymore so I finally had an excuse to throw it away.

chrisma hammes: Accurate and very easy to read. Large print. Some reviews mention how they was disappointed due to it reading celcius only. I was able to switch it to read farenheit on the touch screen options with no issues. Once stuck to tank it stays on tight so make sure you want it where you put it. Only con really is that it came with no instructions on how to set the high/low temp alerts. However, it's pretty easy to figure out once you start messing with it.
