Lorenzo Negron: The media could not be loaded.  I usually don’t bother writing negative reviews, but I want to save others from wasting their time like I did. I had the older version of this horn years ago and it had an awesome, loud, low tone and lasted as long as I kept the truck it was on. Apparently, quality control no longer exists at the factory that makes these. I got two of these in a row that shared the same defect. I returned the first one due to it making the loud whistling sound you hear in the video I posted. Amazon replaced it and the second one was exactly the same. I made sure it wasn’t my wiring job by hooking the horns straight to a battery (also used the Wolo horn wiring harness and installed it according to the diagram by the way). I contacted Wolo to ask them about it and the gentleman on the phone confirmed that it has nothing to do with buying them off Amazon and told...

Trevor: Third WOLO horn that I have installed on motorcycles over the years. I won't ride without one anymore as it helps to keep the cars around me honest. Super loud, easy directions and didn't take long to wire it in. I do believe that it has saved my bacon more than once.

Drew_H: I've had one of these for years, thats been on and off various cars. After the horn on my Rocket III failed just before the MOT I installed it on the bike. However, the plan was do do a dual install with this and a Stebel nautilus on my VXR8. Both bike and car are loud, so need a loud horn.

Gives a very lour deep 'truck' like sound. This and the Stebel nautilus are about as loud as you get in an all in one horn.

Glad to find them on Amazon, they have been difficult to get at a good price. I paid a lot more for my last one. For best results use a relay with thick wire direct to the battery (via a 30A fuse). Connecting to your cars existing horns wires may blow the fuse or give the horn less current than it needs.

Dani Anderson: I’ve had the Big Bad Max in several vehicles, the last being a 2004 Honda Shadow Aero 750. I installed that one in 2014. Loud, to be sure! Fast forward to 2023. Today I installed a newly purchased Big Bad Max on my 2010 Can-Am Spyder. Before making my final connection and tucking the wires neatly away, i touched the red wire to the battery to test. OMGosh!! This thing sounded like a freight train! I left the OEM horn in, so both sound at the same time. They sound awesome together. I don’t know what Wolo did since 2014, but it was definitely a good thing! This actually is uncomfortable to listen to, whereas the last one was loud, but not like this! Kudos, Wolo, for something truly affordable, easy to install, and LOUD!! Definitely buy the optional relay wiring harness. It is helpful to have a general understanding of how DC electricity works. I also cut the inline fuse holder out of the harness and replaced it with a rubberized waterproof ATM mini fuse holder.

Metal Mike: After reading the lower star reviews and complaints about low tones and it not being loud enough, I felt the need to weigh in. I had purchased 2 of these horns, one for my wife and one for myself.

I purchased the first one for my wife as a Christmas gift for her Murano, as the factory horn wasn't very loud at all. I wired it up along with the factory horns (to retain the chirp when using the remote to lock and unlock the car). All 3 horns (the 2 factory and the Wolo) work together without issue. The only thing I had to do was swap the 15 amp horn fuse for a 20 and everything was set. After hearing it several times, I knew I needed it for my car.

I commute 5 days a week, 25 miles each way to and from work. I have had many near misses with people who don't know how to drive, shouldn't be driving, don't check blind spots, and generally either signal as they are changing lanes or just drift without a signal. That was motivation enough to get a dashcam (that's a review for another time) as well as a louder horn. I installed the same one in my Impala along with the factory GM horns and had the same results. Nice and loud, noticeable to the moron drivers....

Amazon Customer: The first one ordered was pro installed at a shop, it was broken from the first honk, they sent me a second and again installed at the shop... this second one works but it’s quieter then the original gmc horn and it sounds like it’s dying... so now I am stuck with the second as I can’t contact the seller through my orders in amazon as there are no options, I am guessing amazon didn’t think a second time a product might be faulty and didn’t allow options for a refund on the second horn sent... I am disappointed as I spent the money on the horn and relay and my original was louder and I also lost money in the shop install as well as the horn and relay. It sounds absolutely nothing like it should and it’s not anything to do with my battery or alternator, it’s just a bad product.

Edog: The first two reviewers had problems with the new [2012] Big Bad Max. I just spoke with Wolo [9/28/12], and they clarified that the first batch had a faulty diaphragm. It produced a squeek instead of a horn blast. The problem has been corrected. If by chance you get a whimpy sound, contact Wolo and they will replace it. [I believe that you have to send defective unit in.] At this date, the representative couldn't guarantee that all the "bad" ones have been pulled.

This is what is recommended:

Install the provided relay to your positive battery post and connect horn BEFORE mounting! [you must supply 16 ga wire]
If you have a problem, contact Wolo directly for replacement.
If it works fine, then install horn according to directions and blast away.

This horn was recommended to me [Ford F250] because of the relative ease of installation--it's a little larger than one's fist--and its sound. It's low frequency like a big rig. No bulky air compressor/tank to mount, no finding space for a long trumpet, no drilling into the roof.

I will order thru Amazon, as Wolo charges retail [@$20 more] plus shipping [@$19]. I will update after...
