Marc J.: This was just the right battery and price point to make this work with an old APC backup-UPS 650. Note that there was a sticker on the old "genuine RBC" battery. Once taken off, it showed the original battery model name HR1234W 12V.

J-Sigmo: PowerSonic has always made very good sealed lead acid batteries. I've used them since the late '70s, and they've performed well. This battery arrived quickly, in good shape, packed well, and was of very recent manufacture (not something that's been sitting on a dusty shelf for years). This is fairly important for SLAs. They NEED to be kept properly charged, and NOT allowed to sit for extended periods without at least occasionally recharging them.
Sealed Lead-Acids are similar to standard car batteries. They do NOT like being run down. They particularly don't like being left dead with a load on them. Do NOT purposely discharge them, this wastes precious charge/discharge life. In use, do not discharge them any more deeply than necessary. Never discharge them below the recommended minimum voltages for the load current. (The minimum discharge voltage is lower for high current loads and higher for lower current loads). R. Larson: I've had a couple of Rocketfish 825VA UPS battery backups for about 5 years and wanted to change the batteries before they fail. The original battery is a B.B. Battery HR1234W with the F2 terminals (0.250 inch wide). Most of the replacements I found for the HR1234W have F1 terminals, so I was glad to find these Power Sonic PS-1270 battery with F2 terminals.
There's little extra room for the battery inside most UPS models and that's certainly true for the Rocketfish 825VA, so I was bit concerned these PS-1270 batteries would fit given the rounded-up dimensions another reviewer left. Luckily, the PS-1270 fit in the Rocketfish 825VA just fine, but I figured I would post the dimensions I obtained using a dial caliper.
B.B. Battery HR1234W dimensions I measured are 5.912"L x 3.665"H x 2.544"W
Power Sonic PS-1270 dimensions I measured are 5.918"L x 3.685"H x 2.556"W
If you measured two different batteries of the same make and model they would likely be different by +/- 0.01", so it's likely the Power Sonic PS-1270 fits inside anything using the B.B. Battery HR1234W.
