Chris B.:
I purchased one of these to replace the 9 year old original battery in my home alarm system, which had started to go bad.
Unfortunately, I had received a dud. About a month after installation, the low battery notification beep returned. Yes, I could have sent it back to the Amazon seller and have them replace it under warranty, but this would have left me with a non functioning alarm system for a while. It's not like I have any working spares of these things laying around the house. I also didn't feel it was worth the time and effort to send back.
So I just ate the cost and decided to pick up a Rayovac of this type from the local battery store. Yes, I did pay more, but it's been working fine without any issues over the past few months.
I understand that when buying online, you win some and lose some. I guess I lost this time.

Experto6: Let's start off with the good stuff. The battery was delivered on time, installed easily and powered up as it should. However, the battery delivered is not the battery pictured (not a Rhino), but it is essentially the same and is working as designed. When I opened the package the top of the battery had fallen off and was leaning against the side of the battery. I replaced it when I installed the battery, but it is loose and just sitting on top of the battery, it does not snap on. I guess it was jostled during shipping and the protective material in the package was not sufficient to completely protect the battery. But, it works.

Marc Thompson: Saved a bunch of money from the OEM and worked perfectly. Got a litlle scare at first because the alarm indicated low battery initially and wouldn't stop beeping but after I manually overrode it there hasn' been a peep yet. Not sure if it needed to gain initial charge or what.

Daniel & Julia:
Pros - It made my stupid alarm stop randomly beeping at 2AM requiring me to get out of bed and smack the control panel around
Cons - I'm starting to miss the beeping....NOT!
This is what you need to keep that pesky alarm system happy, very easy to install, and this battery has more Amp/Hours than the old one. Good product for a good price!

Amazon Customer: The battery arrived in a timely manner, was as described and fit as anticipated since dimensions were supplied. Having a slightly larger Ah (Amp hour) rating is good. It means thicker lead plates inside, which typically translates into more power (not needed) and longer life (a good thing).
Some reviewers noted that sometimes the battery took a few days to "work correctly." Perhaps this will help: It is a normal lead acid battery. Lead acid batteries (the type also used in automobiles) are excellent at providing reliable power for a very reasonable cost and for a reasonably long life expectancy - UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS. Lead acid batteries do not like heat and they do not like being discharged -- and especially discharged and then banged around (knocks partially solidified lead off the plates to the of the battery where it will no longer go into solution (provide power) and shortening its life). Fortunately, sitting in an alarm box is an ideal setting for long life for this type of battery and they typically will last over 10 years because they are usually at room temperature and are kept fully charged - only being used during power...
