Snicklefritz: I bought these for Tunisian crochet. They're not the best quality hooks, they're flimsy and will bend with very little effort. That being said, this set does offer a variety of sizes at a very low price point and they do work just as great as a better quality hook, you just need to be more careful with them especially the little ones. They are metal and the yarn slides nicely over the hook like it's supposed to they worked great for what I got them for.

Madison S.: Bought these when I decided to learn Tunisian crochet, and they’re a great beginner tool. You get lots of sizes for a decent price, and since they’re metal they’re not going to break on you.

Two things to be mindful of (I’m not calling them problems because they’re easily fixed):
1) The top of the plastic end sometimes has a sharp tip from the mold that will catch on yarn/fabric, but a nail file will take care of it without issue.
2) the ink that lists the size will rub off as soon as you use it, even if you don’t touch that end. Make sure to have a sharpie on hand so you can rewrite the size.

Amazon Customer: I chose the needles in size, 2.0 mm to 8.0 mm

I chose them by the recommendation listed as well as the reasonable price for the needles, as I am in the learning process.

I am new to Tunisian stitching which is crochet stitches but in a knitting style, where you need a longer needle because you cast stitches onto the needle and then work them off the needle, you do not turn you piece as in crocheting.

The needles have a plastic rectangle at the end of the needle to stop you stitches as well as identify the size of the needle, but it would have been nice if the letter size would have been added to the back side of the stopper.

The tip of the needles and the shafts are smooth and with just enough of a point at the "hook" to make it easier to insert the hook through stitches that are close together.

The needles do not have the flattened area along the shaft of the needle as you will find in a crochet hook, but a smooth, round shaft, so you have a consistent size of stitches.

They are sturdy, but easy to hold, my 77 year old hands find them comfortable to use.

JWoo: I wanted to try Tunisian crochet and these were both reasonably priced and colourful. They are exactly as they are described but for me, I wish I started with corded Tunisian hooks - the length of these caused hand and wrist pain pretty quickly. It's personal preference but if I were suggesting hooks for someone starting out with this technique, I'd suggest corded to give your hands a chance to warm to the practice. But they are pretty ;)

amazonkpu: Great price and lightweight, and the carry bag is great for storage. The tips are quite rounded, and fairly difficult to get into tighter stitches. The hooks also don't grab multiple stitches well. With that said, I am only an occasional tunisian crocheter so the set is suitable for my needs. Would recommend

SubjectSierra: One of them arrived with the chipped on the hook part if this sort of thing is a big deal to you. They have a bit of give, as they bend a bit when I'm crocheting but they don't stay that way. They're nice and lightweight and are a great price for a whole set.

The biggest size is an 8mm though and since you need to go up 2 hook sizes for tunisian crochet, this means that the thickest yarn you can use is a 4 worsted weight. It's fine for my purposes of making hats and wear warmers but you wont' be able to make anything much bigger. Still makes a pretty tight weave even after going up 2 sizes.

Depending on what you usually like to make, I'd recommend finding a set that includes 6mm to 10mm. I don't anticipate ever using the smaller ones.
