I was not looking for a kettle with all the trendy “bells and whistles” that have a tendency to stop working or complicate the simple task of boiling water. So this meets my needs nicely.

kkpickle: Hot water is essential to me and I like to start my day with a hot cup of water. I bought this to take with me on vacation. I would be staying in hotels but hot water to drink can be hard to come by. I needed a water kettle that is a smaller, portable size. This worked great during my travels. After I heated up water, I poured it into a thermos so I can drink hot water throughout the day. It has all the great features of a normal size electric kettle, only smaller and more portable. It heats up fast, has a pour spout, has an automatic shut off feature, and a flip open top with the push of a button. I also choose this model because it has a stainless steel inner container. The outside stays cool to the touch.

After my vacation, I continued to use this kettle almost daily at work. It works great. After I am done boiling water and empty the hot water in my cup or thermos, I leave the lid open so the kettle can dry. I've had no issue with cleaning. I am very satisfied with this product.

PHAMSTERT: I use this for making instant coffee and tea or helping to heat water to speed up boiling for cooking. This is not super fast in heating, but definitely fast in around 1-3 minutes depending on how much I fill. I specifically chose the kind that is not hot to the touch, which is super important with kids around and a small kitchen. The auto shut off is great when it gets to temperature, but if you take the kettle off it's base before the auto shut off clicks, it will stay on once you put the kettle back. Most of the time, I do take it off the base before it's at max temp because it's hot enough, so the light staying on the knob reminds me to shut it off, but it would be nice if once it's picked up, then it shuts off. Because not everyone pays attention to this. Other than that, it's a perfect compact size that makes making hot drinks such a convenience.

m: Do not buy this kettle. It is useless for travelling in countries without 110v. It seems made for the US only
