James Parker: I tried a lot of griddles. I make a big breakfast at home - eggs, bacon, sausage, sometimes pancakes, etc. I need a lot of surface area. Here's why I chose this one.
1. It heats evenly - super important.
2. HUGE surface area to cook on.
3. Large lip around it makes it easy to flip eggs, bacon, etc. without you chasing it around the surface. Plus, you can pour in your scrambled eggs and it doesn't run off the edge or down the grease capture.
4. It has no grease catch so the surface is LEVEL.
5. Clean up is super easy - it all comes apart.
6. It has a lid - this would be handy if sautéing vegetables and would help things cook faster.

deanie1: Use this regularly for blueberry pancakes for a crowd. Fits a good 5 pancakes at a time. Cleans up beautifully and cooks the pancakes to fluffy perfection. You can't go wrong with this griddle. Oh, it does not take as long to preheat as what it says.

Debbie Gibbons: My husband is known for making pancakes, and is in Love with this griddle and has recommended it to many.

BGH: We use this camping and sometimes at home for the 'big breakfast'. I like the fact it does not have a grease pan - that's just more to clean and deal with. If there is too much oil/grease while cooking I wipe some out with a couple paper towels. Cleanup is very easy, as it's all contained in the griddle part.

However, as others have mentioned, it heats up quickly, but loses heat quickly when you put food on it, and it struggles to get back to temp. I'm not certain why that is, but it appears to be a common complaint. I end up cranking it all-the-way-up at that point - which helps a bit.

Jordan Z: ***UPDATE***

Im leaving my reviews at 5 stars because I love this product, but I cannot recommend buying it through this seller. They are not an authorized dealer so the manufacturer won’t honor their warranty.

No, it's not just a griddle, how dare you! It's a work or art!

Okay, it's just a griddle, but it a REALLY good griddle and I've been looking around for a long time. Bought and returned a few (sorry Amazon), but I finally bit the bullet and spent more than I would have ever thought. but it was totally worth it.

Some of the things that make this so great...

The burner isn't attached to the cooking surface so it heats the air underneath and that creates a very even cooking surface. How about pancakes that look like pancakes and not rorschach tests, but rather golden brown?

Clean up. Clean up is another amazing feature because it comes apart completely. The base, burner, cook surface all come apart allowing you to use soap and water and not just wipe things down. One note! The base is hollow, so you can clean it but be careful because if you run water directly on it, you will get water taped inside. Learned the hard way and...

this is me: So far I've done bullseyes, pork chops, fried potatoes and onions, steaks, eggs and bacon, french toast, meat balls, etc. I haven't been disappointed and I love the large surface and how easy it is to clean. I had purchased this for pancakes when the family is here but I'm finding a lot more uses. We plan on taking it camping as I can do the cooking outside on the picnic table. The Zojirushi brand doesn't disappoint. I have the rice maker and bread maker as well.

Roger T: I got this to replace a heavy All-Clad aluminum griddle I used over two burners on our gas cooktop. Replaced the gas cooktop with an induction cooktop and that griddle no longer worked. I use it to bake English muffins and pancakes. The Zoji actually does a better job because you can set the temperature rather than continually fiddling the gas knob setting to get a constant temperature. I can place 8 English muffins or pancakes almost to the edge of the griddle and they still come out evenly browned all over, so I'm very satisfied with the heat distribution.
The non-stick surface cleans up easily, and any spills outside it can be cleaned easily because the whole thing comes apart. I consider the value to be very good, since getting a new iron griddle from Staub was going to cost $300 and not work as well for what I wanted because of having to fiddle with the gas all the time.
The griddle itself is quite light non-stick coated aluminum, so I don't know how well it would sear a steak because of the rapid drop in temperature when the steak hits it due to its lower thermal mass compared to a steak. Haven't tried it - that's what a real cooktop is for :-)
Someone asked if the...

Jerry from Canada eh: This is a super expensive frying griddle. It doesn’t have a hole (which some reviews take as a negative and I think is a POSITIVE). It’s easy to clean, but will not fit in most dishwashers (for me, it will but as the ONLY thing on the bottom rack).
I bought it right as covid hit and my Dad made fun of my “$200 griddle”. After multiple uses at the cottage, he came to me and asked where I got it and if I could get him one. Both of them heat evenly and cook a variety of things. The lid is awesome for heating stuff quickly and then using as a “keep warm” function for stuff like taco meat. I have used this for way more than the pan it replaced, and often its just left on the counter from breakfast for heating simple things for lunch.
Cons: Its really big
Pros: Its really big

You will like it.

Silverdart: I bought this electric griddle after my third one (other brands) in 5 years broke on me. I hadn't been all that happy with the past ones (as the heat distribution was awful). I was "this" close to giving up on electric griddles entirely, but really liked that this Zojirushi griddle has an element that really covers the entire cooking area. So I figured it would be worth the higher cost.

Turns out I was absolutely right - the griddle does have very good heat distribution (no more "musical chairs" with pancakes to keep them cooking evenly!) The griddle also has plenty of power - I haven't had to cook at a temperature beyond the pre-heat range yet (with other griddles, I sometimes doubted that they ever got up to temperature). You're supposed to pre-heat the griddle for 8 minutes, which makes a real difference to the heat distribution, as well - that's enough time to pre-heat while you mix up pancakes.

I love that the griddle plate has high sides, which makes turning food much easier, and makes it possible to use the griddle for foods beyond pancakes. While the Zodoesn't have the grease drain like other electric griddles, you can make gravy or sauces while cooking your...
