J: NB - my walls had 3 layers of paper on a lime substrate so the following should be read in this context.
This seems to be sold as one solution to fix all wallpaper stripping needs but it’s not that. It can be helpful as a secondary tool when you have more than one layer to remove. A better solution I’ve discovered is to use a glass scraper with a sharp blade and some patience to remove the top layer first. Then remove any glue and lining paper by spraying with water first, waiting 10 minutes and gently scraping with a wide wallpaper scraper.
The tiger is a handy tool to have but not a vital one.

Babs P: Great tool for removing wallpaper - simply make circles on wallpaper with light pressure (don’t press hard) - the tighter the circles the smaller the pieces of wallpaper that come off! - then use a paint roller soaked with water to roll the walls (contractor uncle told me this trick( — once wallpaper turns colors - maybe 3-5 min (means the water has soaked through) and then you can use a small scrapping tool (don’t use the big heavy duty ones it will ruin your walls). Just use the ones that are like 1-2 inches wide — paper comes right off! Rewet with roller for places that dry or need more water. Tada! I did the whole kitchen in 2 hours this way.

S. Elley: Lots of plastic and feels cheap, but it has done the job well so long as you are not heavy handed it will last a long time

TS: Works well, but not in tight spaces or at edges like against ceilings, baseboards and corners. One of the wheel caps fell off almost immediately, so far it doesn’t seem to affect the way it works.

C. Tonn: I needed a tool to perforate wallpaper that we were removing. I read the reviews before ordering, and ordered with some trepidation. Some of the reviews said it was junk, it broke, one said if you order one you better order 5, etc., etc.
We were removing wallpaper from a room that was 12 ft. X 18ft.
In my experience this tool worked well. It did not perforate the wallpaper deep enough so as to damage the drywall underneath, which was my main concern. It perforated the wallpaper enough so that whatever wetting agent you decided to use went through the perforations to easily remove the wallpaper.
Personally, I had never removed wallpaper before. This was a first for me, and I was not looking forward to this job.
I think maybe the people who used the Paper Tiger tool may have been pressing too hard on the walls, causing it to break. You only need LIGHT pressure; back and forth and circular motions to allow the wheels to roll along the wall and do its job! It doesn’t take long to do a whole room either, maybe 30 - 45 minutes.
I would recommend this product.

JediGuitarist: After about a dozen or so vids on wallpaper removal, I decided to try out the Zinsser to help remodel the Den. At first I used it on a section that would be covered by a large computer desk and was very happy with the initial results. After applying the adhesive remover (50/50 mixture of a brand name liquid fabric softener and water) I could tell that it had penetrated the layer of old wallpaper down to the former painted surface.
One bit of advice. When it says you don't need to apply any pressure to the tool, make sure you don't. Let it glide against the wallpaper. I pressed a little too hard on the surface and you could see the marks. I had to go over the area with Spackle but I was able to finish the rest of the wallpapered area with very little pressure on the knob.
As an experiment, I also applied the adhesive remover to a 4'x4' square without scoring and it took about 3x as long to let the solution sit before I was able to remove the wallpaper. The scoring tool made it so much easier and only had to let the mixture sit for about 15-20 minutes.

dilyhe: I had been using the 'regular', single head Zinsser Paper Tiger scoring tool to help in removing wallpaper from a living room; plus I've used it plenty in the past. It always left me so tired, as the effort needed to make enough 'holes' in the wallpaper meant quite a workout for both arms. I kept thinking, there had to be an easier way!
Did a bit of research and that's when I discovered Zinsser had the Triple Head Paper Tiger scoring tool, for sale through Amazon; so I ordered it. Put it to work right after receiving it, to score more wallpaper.
Oh my goodness! It was a HUGE improvement, in my opinion. I could score a large area of wallpaper without getting tired, as it covered so much more area with each pass, so to speak. I already knew to keep the pressure light and steady, so have never had any issues with harming the drywall.
By the way, I realize there are different kinds of wallpaper, and some come off easier than others. Mine is from the late 70's or early 80's, and after some trial and error, this method worked best for me: I used a clean paint brush to apply hot water to the top layer, quickly followed with some DIF gel wallpaper remover, applied with...
