B Lee: Got this to help scrap wallpaper off bathroom wall and it worked great. The wallpaper was thick so didn’t even need spray, just this scrapper. It also has come in handy to scrap paint that dripped on the floor and tile. Scraped it right off.

psycho-billy-cadillac: It’s amazing how much better it works when using the scraping edge..... I might not be the first person to pull it out of the packaging and start using it. I’ll be one of the first to admit it. I didn’t read the package or look closely at the edge before I started using it. After finding it really wasn’t working well, I decided to flip the scraping edge..... No, the blades are not double sided... It’s a very well made tool. Nice handle and sturdy construction. Used it to scrape linoleum paper backing and linoleum adhesive from concrete. It did a great job. The blade held up well. If you have a big job, I would suggest buying extra blades. Great tool for the money.

Tonya: This saved the month for us. We decided to remove the wallpaper that had been in one of the bedrooms since we moved in. What a mistake! Apparently the people that built this place never properly finished the drywall underneath, and then painted over part of it with a terrible paint (that didn't actually adhere to the wall), and then put horrible wallpaper over that.... in places removing the paper ripped right down to the brown paper layer of the drywall. Most of it however just did not want to come off! No matter what we threw at it. This tool was recommended to us, and thank goodness! It shaved off the top layer of the wallpaper with relative ease, leaving just the glue layer behind to tackle. Unfortunately though, using this tool on that layer did not work well.... it gouged into the drywall behind it repeatedly until we went back to our cheaper scraper and a hot water/fabric softener mix in a spray bottle for the glue layer, which was a ton of work but safer. Still, we could never have gotten this far without this tool. The cheap scraper wouldn't get the top layer of paper at all!

Zach E.: Purchased this to scrape a wallpaper border out of my kitchen. After tearing off the top layer, I used this to scrape off soaked bottom layer paper. It worked great for 3/4 of the kitchen but definitely started getting dull by the end. I reached for a knife sharpener from the knife drawer and that improved it, but it definitely could benefit from coming with an extra blade, or I should have just bought some replacements.

Trisha C.: I bought this for scraping off decades old wallpaper that had been painted several times. I thought it was hopeless until I bought this tool. (I tried all sorts of things -- steamer, fabric softener, special remover gel, using paint stripper first -- and the system that worked best was scoring with the Zinsser/Rustoleum scoring tool, spraying with vinegar and water, then scraping with this scraper.) I've also used it for getting glued-on drawer liners off of the bottom of cabinets. I liked it so much that I bought two more so my friends could join in the fun.

D. Black: 4.5 stars, but I rounded up. I've been scraping the nasty texture off the walls in our vestibule to reveal the original smooth plaster beneath. At first I was using a metal putty knife and it was incredibly hard work. Then I found a scraper similar to the Zinsser at our local big chain home supply store, made by their private maker for tools. I was amazed at how quick it made the plaster scraping work and wished I had had it sooner. But then the second day of use the handle snapped. So I exchanged it for a second one and the same thing happened within hours of use.

I decided to try the Zinsser instead. I'm happy so far. It seems much more sturdy even after several hours of heavy use. I'll update my post if the handle should end up breaking or anything else but it seams to be of a higher quality (though approximately the same price).

The only thing bad I have to say is that the rubber handle isn't really molded for ergonomic use. I got a small blister on the palm of my hand after using it so I'm taking a week off before I finish. The texture of the handle is soft though.
