J. Barnes: The design and manufacture of these almost guarantees they will be hard on your skin. I put them on tight at the bottom of three toes (for hammertoe). One of the toe holes rode up a half inch and then rubbed the skin raw (part of one day). They were made with "sharp" edges on each hole, like they were cut with a knife and are not rounded. They did not straighten my toes at all. I'm not sure how I would use them. I'm not going to return them (I feel guilty about he number of returns I have made lately).

Charlie's mom: These toe loops are just too big. I've tried wearing them to bed, but wake up having to dig them out of the sheets because they slipped off my feet overnight. I've tried putting on shoes or socks or slippers over them, but the loops roll and twist and I can't keep them in place when I put on any footwear. I've tried shifting them from the middle toes so the first loop is on the big toe instead, but they still slide off or get twisted. I've tried both the 3-loop style and the single loop style (the single loop style spins on my toe so the pad that's supposed to be under the foot ends up between my toes or on top of the foot).

The silicone gel is super soft and squishy, even cool, so very comfortable. I wish there was an option for a smaller loop size. I think that if the toe bands were wider - covered more of the length of the toes - that would eliminate some of the rolling. Also, if the pads under the foot were wide and extended further under the other toes, that would help keep them in place.

I wanted to use them to straighten/flatten a mild hammer toe, but I end up scrunching my toes trying to keep these pads in place, so I'm enhancing the problem instead of...

P. Wells: I recently had surgery to relieve pain from my neuromas. I had 2 in my right foot. After that now my 3 middle toes all pull together and are very numb and I can't feel them mostly. I trimmed this product down, and played with it. I tried as-is and yeah nope. As some others have said it's too much when walking, but comfortable when sitting. I trimmed most of the thick bottom off, I tried it with 3 holes and that seemed to work but was not quite what I was after. I recently took out another one and trimmed it completely down to just 2 holes, no thick bottom area and this is quite a bit better. All I was looking for was a way to keep the 3 middle toes separated from each other because I cut my middle toe with the nail from the toe next to my piggy toe. I'm on thinners so I bled like a stuck pig. These things are super soft and not particularly strong as elasticity goes? They have plenty of give and don't cut off my circulation. Now I have something that separates my toes enough to prevent any nails from cutting adjacent toes but I'm perfectly comfortable now. I couldn't find anything else that really accomplished what I needed but I was able to make these work. I still have 2 left so...

Elizabeth B.: They are so soft, I didn't expect anything much. But I wore them for two days straight, with shoes and with sandals. I slept with them on. The third day, I took them off and was very surprised to find my toes stayed more separate, and the hammer toes were straighter.

Today is third day without them. I plan to put them on again tomorrow. Before my next podiatrist appointment, I will put them on for 3 or 4 days... just to shock the doc.

But they are definite relief for hammer toe discomfort, and will help anyone whose toes are too close together.

They are washable and reusable, and there are two sets in a package.

Nancy C: UPDATE: I wrote this review a few months ago. I wanted to hive you an updated review. I no longer have to have hammertoe surgery because this product has stopped all my pain. I still have a hammer toe on my right foot, but when I wear this device I no longer have any pain. I wanted to let you know that one day I lost it and found it in my dryer. I found that the material that it's made out of stretches out and doesn't feel as comfortable on my foot. What I found out was that when it went through the dryer that the rubber went back to the original shape. The material that it's made out of will pull out of shape after about a month and the device will slip on my foot. So after it went through the dryer I found that the heat put it back in its original shape. So what I do is every night when I take it off I put it under the hottest water that I can have and I find that the device goes back into its original shape. I put it under the water for about 5 minutes. This is very important because if you follow my directions you can buy one package and it can last you a long time.
