This spring the bugs were so bad I felt like I needed a zapper near the door to go in or out so I picked this one up. I know it says near a door decreases its efficiency, this would not be a problem. I attached a remote outlet so I could turn it on and off from inside. It literally filled up so fast I was having to clean it hourly. Co.pressed air cleans it fast, and you need to keep it relatively clean. Bugs can build up so bad it cannot zap new ones. I ended up picking up another one to bracket the area and it has worked great. No more bugs in the house. If you are thinking about it, I say make the purchase.

It kills small bugs. Horse flies, large moths may or may not get stunned once they work their way to the grid. Once I opened it up to dump the dead to have a rather large moth (about half an inch long) fly off. The cage is just too small for largeer flying insects to fly in. I have seen adult house flies crawling on the electrical grid for several minutes only to work their way out of the device. But smaller insects it fries nicely. The device is very quiet, I have never heard a single zap.

I live in New England; we have a ton of mosquitos.
They always seem to find a way to make it inside.
I keep this right near the back door.
works Well for fruit flies, gnats, and most importantly, small mosquitos.
The UV light attracts and instant results..
It is fairly quiet and what little noise it does make is a soothing almost white noise.
I am very happy to add this to our bug control system. Can now enjoy windows open on cool nights without a ton of blood-sucking annoyances getting through the screen.
2 months in daily use and holding up well.
The replacement bulb is also easy to find ~ I grabbed a back up at a local hardware store just in case.
This bug zapper is well Worth the money!
