This rug tape is a bit stronger than I'm used to, but I did need something a bit stronger to stick to an old floor with lots of pitting/bumps, so it worked perfectly. I did have to remove a piece and that was not as easy as low tack double sided tape, however, not too difficult and the residue came off just fine. That said, I used this for carpet tiles and it has taken a beating but the tiles stay firmly on the floor. Personally, I'd rather use this stuff as it sticks to crusty surfaces well. The only issue is cutting - don't use scissors lest they get gummed up, better to use a sharp box cutter.
