David Eskildsen: I really didnt want to have to buy one of these. Being crafty and all, I was just going to make something my self. But the time and materials saved by just buying this is a better way to go. Not to mention its adjustable and can be made to fit anything within its capability.

Laurie K. Olsen: Sometimes after market products are significantly better than the OEM version and this is one of those times. I bought a Black and Decker portable A/C unit and while the unit is working beautifully, the window kit was a nightmare to install. You literally need a hand saw to adjust the length to fit the window (per the manufacturer instructions) and after that it's going to be a nightmare to get it out of the window come fall.

I was looking for a 2nd window kit, to be able to use the A/C unit in a different space in my home, when I found this beauty. It adjusts like a dream and all be extremely simple to remove and then to reinstall when the seasons change.

Not all brands are created equal but I'm truly loving this product!

Delizzy: We have a portable air conditioner that wasn't really portable because the window adapter for it was very difficult to use. Once it was finally put in a window, you REALLY didn't want to move it to another window because it was so difficult to adjust and get "just right". It was complex and didn't fit that well even after fiddling with it for a while. This meant that it tended to go into the window long after it should have and stayed there past the optimal removal time. This is our first summer using it, but my adult son installed it in less than 10 minutes and it fits better than the original. Finally the room on the west endo of the house is no longer an oven!
