Louis Duong: The cookbook How To Cake It gives the reader easy-to-follow instructions of how to do certain processes of cake making and cake decorating. It also gives one a handful of recipes one can use to make cakes in addition to insights of cake making sprinkled throughout the book. There are images that show the steps of the recipe procedures in addition to photos of the cake decorating process. The recipes are slightly complicated and use ingredients that may not be available in certain parts of the world or one's own country thus the book is more suited to the committed baker than the casual one.

Amazon Customer: Great book with easy to follow instructions and beautiful pictures. Only weird thing is that Yolanda specializes in fondant cakes... but the book doesn’t include a fondant recipe..? Have not tried her recipes yet but looking forward to trying it!

Christina: I've followed yo for a long time on youtube, I've learned so much from her and my now favourite go to cake is her vanillia. Holds very well. So when I seen her book on here I was over the moon and had to purchase it. I love her intro, and she has inspired me what I should have done years ago making cakes. All her ideas are amazing and it's a great book to learn from. She gives all the information and even breaks it down. It also has a converstion table at the back. She is amazing and an inspiration to learn from. Delivery was very fast.

marie c.: Yolanda's recipes tastes really good and her step by step instructions on how to accomplish the cakes are simple and easy to follow. If you want to improve your cake decorating skills, this book is a must-have. The instructions are clear and the time line that she provided gives you a clear idea of what you need to prepare in advance, complete with pictures of tools and materials needed. This is important for those who live in other places where some of the materials are not readily available. Using the photos in the book, they can easily find substitute items to be able to finish their cake project.

Stamp My Art: For my daughter's first birthday cake, I ordered a cake from a bakery using a picture from one of their assorted display books. Oddly enough I expected the cake to look like the picture. :O Imagine my surprise on the day of the big event when my husband brought home the cake, and it did not look like the picture and was missing half the decorations??!!?? I called the bakery let them know the problem, not only have they spelled my daughter's name incorrectly they also forgot all the decorations that belonged on the cake. We had guests arriving and I did not have time to go back over. They sent someone to our house, but the cake still never looked like the picture.
On that day I vowed to learn how to make cakes for my daughter. I then took three levels of Wilton cake decorating classes to learn and understand the basics cake decorating. I remember my grandmother and aunt making cakes and flowers with icing and was always so amazed. Now I could make them too! Maybe not as good as theirs, but it was a start. Sk: I was so excited to get this book. I haven't been a fan for long but when I stumbled upon Yolanda and HTCI I immediately feel in love and became inspired.
My husband and I cleared our evening so we test out the ultimate chocolate cake recipe and the Italian meringue buttercream. The cake was so moist and delicious and was so easy to make. I was terrified of the sugar syrup for the meringue but the book laid it out so easily and the instructions were simple enough that my half batch turned out perfect. I've never had such wonderful buttercream before!
I'm looking forward digging into the rest of the recipes. Thank you so much Yolanda for such a wonderful book and for being so fun and inspiring!!
