K. McCann: I tried this alarm on my bike and it does souls a very loud alarm. The key has to be inserted into the lock just right to turn it off. I have a concern that I could accidentally trigger the alarm by attempting to open the lock, thereby scaring the heck out of anyone within hearing distance. I’ll just practice different scenarios.

Jann S.: I purchased a 2022 Harley Softail used. It didn't cone with the fork lock key. I've read those can be jammed fairly easily, leaving you stranded. Between the OEM Ignition lock out and this Chunk O Metal attached to the front wheel I feel a bit more secure.

ReaganReagan: I got this alarm for my 2018 Grom. It is EXTREMELY loud. It will definitely draw attention and being close with the alarm going off honestly hurt my ears. Which I think is good sign that it will deter anyone who may attempt to take it. Others mention it is very sensitive but I have found that it only goes off when messing with the lock itself. I drove my vehicle close to my bike to test it, as well as walking past it and touching other parts of the bike(seat, handle bars, gas tank, squeezing break). Both times the alarm did not go off. If you don't enter your key correctly, then the alarm will go off which was annoying at first but If you master the technique to enter your key fast enough then it's great. As far as durability goes no one has attempted to slice it off but it is pretty heavy and seems like it will be able to hold up. I would recommend as additional layer of protection for you bike/motorcycle!

SassySpaceDragon: I've owned and used this lock for an entire riding season. Its batteries have lasted that long, and have shown no indication of running out. It's small but heavy, and my god is it sensitive.
Maybe that's the only thing I dislike about it is how oversensitive it can be- if I know it'll rain, I'll make sure to put it on the back wheel instead of the front wheel, because if the rain hits it, it will go off.
It's been very sturdy, and I find I don't use the cable it comes with. It's so sensitive that if you even start opening up the tail bag casually instead of carefully, it'll beep at you.
I live in an area where there are people around all the time, so I use it as more of a 'pay attention to me, I'm getting stolen!!' alarm than an actual theft deterrent. When I sleep, I leave my window cracked open. If anyone touches the bike, even the neighbor's cat, it'll chirp and I'll know to listen to see if it goes into full scream-mode.
The alarm itself is pretty loud and piercing. It does hurt my ears up close, and it's *very* noticeable even several hundred feet away. (Definitely wakes me up at night when it rains and I forget to move it to the sheltered brake rotor on the back...
