Andrew Mardjuki: Hmm not money worth for the price rather get the sustain pedal only by itself which costs a quarter of this product

AmazonFever: Bought these pedal unit for my Yamaha DGX660. It was very easy to install and connect. This product is really made of quality and matches and fits well on the DGX stand. It works as designed.

Another Scholar: YES!!! This is a must-have for anyone with a good quality DGX who is also used to the pedals on an acoustic piano. The little pedal that comes with the piano is way too lightweight, doesn't behave like a regular pedal, and is annoying (it flips over if you aren't careful, and it doesn't do the things of all three pedals).

This three-pedal unit attaches easily, and does all the things we are used to being able to do on a regular piano. I have the DGX-640 (got it used, and I swear by Yamaha's quality), and the unit works great on it.

One thing I wish - Yamaha should include the three-pedal unit with digital models the size of the DGX 640, 650, 660. Those are full, 88 key instruments, with a large array of digital controls, and they're not designed to easily be carried around that much (not like you'd tote around and unpack for gigs). It stands to reason an experienced pianist (or even one not so experienced - *cough!*) would want the traditional pedal configuration. The single-pedal attachment that comes with the DGX is not great to use, and it's cheaply made. I guess Yamaha could include that for people who carry the piano to performances, but in reality, the pedal(s)...

Bill L.: A few months back we purchased a Yamaha DGX-660 digital piano as a family gift. Thus far I am very impressed with the piano, but I did not care for the included sustain pedal, which is small and easily slides out from under the foot during play. So I decided to upgrade and purchase a true 3-pedal unit.

The good: Installation was simple. In less than 5 minutes the board was assembled, installed and ready to go and only a Philips screwdriver is needed. The board is very solid/heavy, in a good way. I was a bit worried that it would be flimsy; it's not. All of the pedals work just fine. Sustain and Sostenuto work just as they do on a "real" piano, the soft pedal, however, is a bit more subtle than I remember it on your typical upright. Lastly, and this is something I hadn't considered, but the appearance of the unit is much improved with the added pedal board. Before, it seemed rather empty, now, it looks more like a complete unit, not that this matters in the functionality, I just found interesting.

The bad: I have just one problem with this unit; the pedals are "heavy". Perhaps it's the fact that I am only used to playing on keyboards with cheap, plastic sustain pedals...

Ad1br.RD: it's true that this add-on will make the whole unit sturdier and less wobbly while playing. so far i'm loving this 3-pedal and how it completes the whole (digital) grand piano experience. the plastics do in fact feel cheap, and look cheap, but they work. and the wooden board is tough and doesn't look cheap at all. the whole thing is very easy to install, shouldnt take you longer than 10 minutes to complete, as long as you don't confuse clockwise with counterclockwise like i did when screwing the parts together lol. this pedal unit goes to a different port at the back of my dgx-640 than the single pedal. i'm guessing that port have more channels for the digital signals because i noticed a change in sound quality. not sure if it's just my ears, but the overall sound became richer and slightly louder. i had this unit shipped to our country by sea, so i'm REALLY glad there were no issues regarding lost or broken parts as i don't want the trouble of filling out warranty return forms and the added fees. i have to give props to amazon for the processing and proper handling of my order. anyway, i'll try to update on this product after a year or so of usage and see if no problems will pop...

N. J. Simicich: So, what does a piano have that a keyboard generally doesn't? Simple answer: pedals. This adds three pedals to the high end home keyboards.

Yamaha gives you a small portable style pedal that only does full sustain with the YPG-635. This unit gives you full piano pedal function.

Installation is a snap, provided you are using the original Yamaha stand. There are holes in the sideboards that are filled with little rubber plugs, and four screws come with the pedal kit that mount it to the side boards once you remove the plugs. There are two screws (and little sleeves) that mount the pedal assembly to the cross piece. The wood is "machined" and fits the stand fairly precisely.

The wire is long enough to stay out of the way and there are wire guides that should be mounted to the wire before the paper adhesive covers are removed.

The left pedal is a soft pedal. Right is a sustain, and the middle is a "sostenudo" if I have that correct. In any case, if you have chorded and want that chord to be sustained, and then want to play a progression, and want the subsequent chords not to be sustained even though the first chord is sustained, you play and hold the first...
