Yamaha A-S701SL Silver Integrated Stereo Amplifier with Natural Sound

KurdinoffKurdinoff: My old amp died so I replaced it with the Yamaha A-S301 and I am very pleased. The sound is rich and full, blowing away the amplifiers I've used in the past. I've set up a small digital streaming system by coupling the amp with an Amazon Echo link and together they drive a pair of Pioneer SP-BS22-LR shelf speakers, a 10" Micca Subwoofer, and a pair of old Bose cube speakers surrounding my desk area with vibrant, rich sound.

It's hard to find an economical 2+1 or 4+1 setup, but this Yamaha amp shines at a price that hard to beat.

Aaron R: i picked up a 701 after owning a cheap $200 yamaha NS receiver a couple years. the sound quality difference IS HUGE!!! that old amp is now worthless to me and feels like i got ripped off!!! the clarity is soo much better! With that said im kind wishing i bought an as-1200 considering how much better this lower end amp was!! that will be on my next to purchase after i get my hands on some yamaha NS1000's!! I picked up as an impulse buy when it was listed used for $520 here and i feel i got a great deal! not sure if id feel the same @ $800,, id probably research more amps at that point to make sure its really worth it

WTL: I've had this S-301 for a week -- it's replacing a 50-year-old Sherwood receiver that produced excellent sound but keeps breaking down in its old age, requiring a 2-3 month wait as the stereo repair guy has a huge backlog (it's lucky we even have one in this smallish city).

I hooked up my Harmon Karden Bluetooth external adaptor to the RCA jacks and it works great, as does the Phono hookup. I connected the CD player via optical cable.

So far, we like the sound very much -- far surpasses the Sony STRDH-190 we returned for its shallow sound, and the Yamaha TSR-7850R "renewed" that we returned because it obviously hadn't been renewed since Bluetooth didn't work and sound was only adequate. The sound is clear and pure without being shallow or cold, and it's wonderful to be able to hear the full range of tones at low volume. My hearing is failing at high frequencies (plus bad tinnitus) so this amp is a revelation.

I haven't had an integrated amp for many years (it was a mid-range Denon, something like $400 35 years ago), so I must have forgotten how limited in function the remote control is. What I really miss is the bass/treble controls -- I don't know why I...

RAMIRO MURUA: Me lo recomendó un amigo que al mismo tiempo también se lo compro su cuñado. Lo traigo con unas Jamo S809 + S8 y ahora estoy comprando un subwoofer SPS pb16 ultra para probar todo el conjunto.
Sorprende la calidad y fidelidad costo/beneficio es fantástico.
Todo sale por una tornamesa Technics y no veo las horas de poner este ampli a trabajar a tope.
Nada digital, me ha encantado volver un poco el sentimiento atrás de cuando era pequeño.

MrBabylon9000: After a week of break in period on this amplifier, I find the sound to be excellent. Lots of warm, heavy deep bass, and plenty of birght treble. It's nice to have loudness control but I would have liked it better if it had positive gain. It only has negative. So, you can really only turn it down as you turn up the volume. I have it turned down half way but at low volume I'd like to have positive gain. I feel the remote stole a whole star from an otherwise great amplifier. You cannot control the Bass, Treble or Loudness on the remote. Yet, they added controls for a CD player? I'd rather have full control of the amps features from the remote. Other than that the sound is exceptional. Having banana clips for the speakers is nice. All in all a very great buy. This is a step up from using an AV amp for 2 channel stereo. The sounds is so much better.

Cliente de Amazon: Compre el amplificador porque tengo unas torres Pioneer FS52 y no tuvo problemas para hacerlas sonar, En la parte de atrás del amplificador trae un switch para elegir a 4 u 8 ohms o a 6 ohms, lo puse a 6 ohms , se calienta poco. En cuanto al sonido usando el modo DIRECT da buenos graves, medios y agudos parejos sin molestar, uso laptop o cel con el Ztella conectado al amplificador.
Voy empezando en eso de la audiofilia
Llego un par de días antes de la fecha de entrega

Kmclean: First off, I've been using vintage equipment for a while. The problem is the constant breakdown of 40 year old equipment so i decided to go modern. I didn't want another BPC receiver, I've had two, a pioneer and a Sony, neither of which had any any real output, I had to turn them way up to get loud but was never satisfied with the sound quality, but then I found the Yamaha integrated amp with the silver face. Very clean lines, not cluttered with multiple switches.

Its paired with a set of Klipsch R26FA speakers. The amp has only an A, B and A+B selection. A is hooked to the front speakers while the B is hooked to the top firing Atmos speakers. It has a subwoofer output which I attached to a Klipsch K100SW powered subwoofer. I have a large listening room and this set up fills the room with sound that you can feel as well as hear.

I still use a vintage turntable and tape deck but I have an Echo Link hooked up as well. The sound is awesome, but then I said that already. I also have a top of the line modern Panasonic Blu-ray hooked up, when I watch a concert video it's almost like being there. A vintage Pioneer tuner completes the package however I have ordered the tuner...
