Lacey: Simple to use. The transmitter and receiver came with charge but still gave them a full charge before first use and can play for a good 5 hrs before having to recharge. There is no lag time that I notice. If there is it's milliseconds. The transmitter tucks up nice to the body of my Jackson electric and I bought a 2nd transmitter for my Fender acoustic. Very happy with this wireless setup. Well worth the money!!

Mr. Douglas Roberts: I decided to take the plunge and go for a wireless transmitter for my Cordoba classical electro-acoustic, despite already having an old early model by a different manufacturer, which was next to useless. Another guitarist recommended Xvive, as he's had 5 years of good use and counting, without the rechargeable battery dying.
The best thing is that the quality of the sound is noticeably improved over using a cable, plus no stress on the output jack socket. Considering I'm using a nylon string, it's amazing to hear such faithful amplified sound reproduction, the best I've achieved to date.

I've added a small velcro tab at the end of the transmitter, and on my guitar body, to stop the unit revolving in the jack socket when I pick up or put down the guitar. The velcro easily keeps it fixed in place.

This gets 4 stars, because these units seemingly still have no option to replace the battery once it dies, which is annoying. But even so, the savings on cables plus no wear and tear on the guitar socket balances that cost.

Gregorius: Some other reviewers have noted that this device doesn't work with their active pickups. The product packaging (but NOT the Amazon listing, tut tut) makes it clear that this MIGHT be a problem: "The U2 is suited for all electric string instruments with passive pickups. Performance with active pickups will vary depending on the type of pickup".

My experience on that, for what it's worth, is positive. I've tried it with these active pickups:

- Fishman Rare Earth soundhole humbucker (button battery)
- Mimesis soundhole single coil (button)
- B-Band A3T undersaddle (9v) factory-fitted in a Tanglewood acoustic guitar
- Unknown brand 'ASE-N' (9v) factory-fitted in an Ozark tenor guitar
- Fishman lsysT (?) (9v) factory-fitted in a Martin LX1E
- Myers 'Feather' (button battery) and 'Clamp' (basically the same thing with two different mounts)

It worked first time, every time, with all of them. The Myers ones were interesting because although Myers calls them 'pickups', they're actually little condenser microphones. This puts them outside the intended use, but they were just fine.

I've also tried it with a slew of passive pickups including Seymour...

J. F.: First off, these products arrived on time and for the most part, undamaged.

Why We Bought Them (2 units):
My wife and I are physicians who travel back and forth between states via clinical rotations. Along with our love for healthcare, we are both active musicians. Combined we play: violin, cello, ukulele, banjo, acoustic/electric guitar, acoustic/electric bass guitar, ocarina, flute, saxophone, drums, and a few other instruments. As such, since many of these instruments require cable connections (whether for amps, headphones, or microphone settings), we thought that it might prove productive to purchase 2 sets of these wireless units to utilize on our clinical rotations and thus leave the snake pile of cables behind. Since we own a farmhouse in one state and rent an apartment in another, we were very curious to see if these units could function in a manner that would aid us in not disturbing neighbors in adjacent units (at the apartment) while having the open range advertised at our farmhouse. We were also curious if they would function in tandem (ex: 1st unit from guitar to “In” effect pedal board with one unit on one channel, and 2nd unit from “Out” pedal...

chris moll: The media could not be loaded.  The Xvive U2 is currently the best value and sound for the money, plus ease of operation make it a winner.
My other guitarist and I both purchased this unit to try it out in out for our band.

All of the testing that I have done were with guitars.

Sound Quality. 5/5 Stars.
Here it is, sound quality, one of the most important aspects to many guitarists that are tone nuts. How does this compare to a high quality cable?
Simply put, this unit sounds amazing. You have the full feeling of dynamics and articulation with no lag time whatsoever. According to the manual there is a 6ms delay which is completely unnoticeable to me. There is a slight bass cut to the signal when compared to a cable. It's as if the lowest frequencies are slightly rolled off. This doesn't sound bad in any way and actually to my ears seems to get rid of some of the low mud and add clarity. One could argue that the tone actually seems to be improved. Other wireless units such as the line6 relay have a cable emulation mode which this one does not. When compared to a cable (based on sound quality alone) I would never hesitate to grab the Xvive U2 for any...
