M1K3 FR0M D3TR01T: Measure your door opener tube BEFORE ordering. This was 10.5", but some are 9", etc.

Close door.

Remove the pin at each end of your original unit. They just pull out with fingers!

Take off the door stop thingy (slides on rod to jam door open) and put it on the new unit.

Put everything back together. One pin is a larger diameter than the other--so if the pin won't go in, it belongs at the other end.

Worked great. Took under 2 minutes.

Package was old clam-shell style that took longer to open than to get this thing installed.

taytay: We had it installed in no time on our screen patio door. Had to pre drill holes because frame is aluminium but the screws were sturdy. Has an adjustment on the speed/length of closure so it was easy to not get it to slam shut. Highly recommend

GAGalGone2SCGAGalGone2SC: I have two storm doors on the backside of my house that I'm sure have been there nearly as long as the house has been. One day something snapped on one of them and it just wouldn't close the door so I searched to find a new replacement of the same brand.

Overall, it was harder to remove the older closer than installing this new one. This door opens on the right side (from inside) so this closer is attached to the door frame on the left. It installs in 5 easy steps. After removing the old closer, 1) Replace the door frame bracket (4 screws) and install the new door bracket. 2) Attach the bracket to the storm door. 3) Attach the arm of the Closer to the door frame by installing the pin between the upper bracket pin holder, through the metal arm and then through the bottom of the frame bracket. 4) In the next step, extend the arm out using the "L" shaped stopper to holder the arm extended. 5) Lastly, connect the right side of the closer to the door by putting the pin though the top of the bracket, through the closer and finally through the bottom of the bracket. Dreamsource: Had a poor install from a contractor. In fact, plunger was bent when we moved in. Pulled the model number off the damaged one and got this exact replacement. Need to add a security spring/chain to my door as we have a lot of gusty wind which potentially could re-damage the closer. Works perfectly, easy to adjust.

Jen: Closes door slowly till just before closing. Then SLAMS door shut and is very loud. We don't have a cheap light door but a standard light door. Will probably order for something even lighter close. Husband said that this was for light doors.

LS: Easy to install (a power drill helps). Not fussy. Works well. Just remember to install in door jamb so the door swings away from it, pulling the rod with it.

Bill: Name brand box store quality seems to have fallen as of late- 3 in the past few years. Wouldn't pull door closed = 1/4 turn adjustment then it slams.
This one works well and adjustment works.
Nice how door side has a mount and pivot pin so it shouldn't pull off the door.

Susana Tobias: Funcionó perfecto. Sencillo de instalar. El único detalle es que no recomiendo regular la velocidad de cierre (si la aumentas, pierde fuerza). A mi me funcionó perfecto con el ajuste que trae de fabrica.
