Adel H.: The main body of this product works fine as does the connection arm the main issue with it though is the extremely cheap wood screws that they give you. The heads of two of the screws completely stripped off the bodies after installing it into wood, very cheap material used if you have your own screws I would recommend using them or making sure you drill good pilot holes. The instructions don't specify this very well.

Dustin Saxton: This is absolutely amazing. So easy to install and works every time. I got this for our downstairs bathroom so the dogs wouldn’t go in and drink from the toilet if the kids leave the door open. It’s absolutely perfect, closes the door every time without slamming. If you set it right it will close the door gently and completely, without pinching fingers or slamming. The spring is not noisy so ignore the reviews claiming otherwise. If I needed them I would get one for every door in the house!

Rich F.: So the Prime Line KC10HD Door Close is a great design, easy to install and adjust, and it worked perfectly with my application. My issue is with Amazon...and I guess the manufacturers packaging process. So mine was missing 1 of the tiny white vanity plugs. I reached out to Amazon for a plug, which is unavailable and was offered a $3 refund, a fair exchange for a one cent plug, but not what I wanted. I wanted what I paid for and suggested a swap which was acceptable to my Amazon chat partner Juvy. The issue was I either had to take my return to a Whole Foods 14 miles away or pay for a UPS return as my package value didn't qualify. What??? How did their problem become my problem? In the end I accepted a $5 refund and my Door Close is missing 1 vanity plug. Oh, and I am a monthly paying Amazon Prime member. Poor customer service amazon.

Pros:
White color goes very nicely with my white door
Smaller size than most door closers; it does look bad at all
Very well constructed, no plastic parts in the main mechanism
Very reasonable price compare to other closers
Very easy to install; fits very well on the door jam
Comes with nice long screws

Cons:
Closes door a little hard; I installed rubber in the door frame to absorb the slam
The main housing will prevent the door to open all the way (180 degrees)
The strong spring might make some noise; I would apply some machine oil

Overall, this a very effective product for a very reasonable price. I will definitely buy it again, if needed.

J RJ R: The media could not be loaded.  This door closer appears to be somewhat coarse. The paintwork in the screw holes were coming off even though it was new (see picture). The threads for the closing arms also had some paint stripped off. As the closer is of metal construction paint may, depending on the finishing process used, come off quite easily.

It was easy enough to fasten, but I was missing one plastic plug for the retaining screws (see picture)

Finally, this closer is very noisy. When closing or opening the door, it emits a loud creaking noise. Measured with my phone, the noise levels in the room rose from 40+dB to 60+dB. (video attached).

If you are looking to close a door inside your home, I would give this a miss. The common overhead door closer (while more expensive and more involved to install) is much quieter.

Amazon Customer: These things are great! I have bought 3 over the past year to keep various doors closed. All are still functioning just fine, and I just disassembled the oldest one and it still looked new inside. Only downside is if you install it right out of the box it will creak and groan unless you disassemble it and pack it with wheel bearing grease.

First one was for the upstairs bathroom, we have to keep that door closed during the summer months when the Air Conditioning is on so that the bedrooms stay cool. During the winter it's not necessary so I just take the main rod off but leave it mounted to the door frame. Just yesterday I took it down off the wall and took it apart and to my surprise it still looked brand new inside despite being subject to a year's worth of hot showers. I was really expecting it to be badly corroded but no it was mint inside. Took the opportunity to pack some grease inside as it was creaking a lot and waking people up at night. Is now silent.

Second was installed on the door to the basement a month later. This is a larger door that has foam sound deadening installed onto it so fairly heavy, plus we need this door to...

JaymeJayme: The installment of this spring door closer is incredibly simple. Adjusting the tension is simple enough, and most importantly, it works! I needed this for a door that opens outward onto the patio, and because of this wasn't so sure it was going to function as well, as if it had been installed on a more traditional door.
The poor weather has hindered the installation until now and we couldn't be more impressed with this! When I say there was nothing to the installation, I really mean it! We really like the smaller, more attractive appearance of this spring door closer in comparison to others. I will admit that it does make a creaking sound as the spring tightens when opening the door, but it's hardly a nuisance. I was so afraid one of the kids were eventually going to break the glass on the door as it swung open an hit the outdoor light you can see in the picture. Also on windy days the door practically pulls right out of your hands and does the same thing. I'm not sure why the previous owners hadn't done anything to rectify this issue when they installed the doors to begin with.

DouglasDouglas: I bought this spring door closer for a side kitchen door to keep our indoor cat from getting out. The door is old and the frame is warped so the door naturally swings completely open to a stationary position. Before I found this closer on Amazon I didn't even know this kind of closer version existed. I was planning on buying one of those bulky hydraulic rod closers from a big box home improvement store. This one is nice because it only takes a few screws, it is on the opposite side of the door so you really don't see it. It also can be installed in cramped spaces since the mechanism doesn't take up very much space.

They offer various colors so you can match it to your décor, and it looks easily paintable.

It is made in China, but feels sturdily made. It only took me about ten minutes to install it on a wood door. I didn't even drill any pilot holes first, the screws included were perfect for wood.

The biggest drawback is the tensioning of this device. I'd recommend two people if you have to really ratchet up the tension on the spring. They include a tensioning screw which you use to wind it up. Once you go around 3 holes or so, it gets quite...
