ShoeGoddess: I've purchased several pair of these shorts the past few years and have been pleased with the distressed look and fit. I do prefer a higher waist in my shorts but the distressed look that I like isn't easy to find. I'm familiar with WAX brand and how they fit so I always go back to them. I'm 5'3" and 145 lbs and LARGE fits OK then perfect once I've had them on for awhile. I think these might run a tad small, not a whole size, but somewhat. The stretch is great so like I said, after wearing a little while, they relax and fit better. The X-Large may have fit better but knowing how stretch denim expands after wear, I didn't want them to be baggy looking. I'm happy with them overall and if I order more in different shades/colors, I will still order the LARGE.

GFamGFam: I’m 5’3 120lbs. I’ve been looking for shorts that hugged tight but had some give, didn’t look like “mom jeans”, and weren’t so short I felt exposed but not so long I wasn’t getting a short shorts look. These have all those qualities with the added bonus of making my butt look nicer. The material stretches enough that I can squat down repeatedly and they don’t ride up and I could eat too many tacos and the button/fly don’t dig in. They fit like a dream when I tried them on out of the package, so I was very worried about washing them and possibly shrinking them in the dryer (because I have never in my life put a load on tumble dry low). They turned out fine, fit the same with very minimal shrinkage.

Autumn W.: A friend of mine gave me a pair of these shorts a year ago and I loved them. Ive worn them so much I needed a new pair, and was excited to see them on Amazon when I looked them up online. I read the reviews not to order from Salt so I was a bit skeptical but they were the only because they had my size in one of the colors I wanted. I also ordered two different sizes from another company in different colors. The Large from Salt and the other company fit perfectly and we’re both Wax jeans not knock offs like a couple people had mentioned. They do stretch a bit after wearing so the medium may have worked, but I like a little bit of wiggle room. I’m 5’6” and 140lbs.
These short are very flattering and aren’t too long or too short. I’ve ordered 7 pairs of different jean short online and these are by far my favorite.

Customer: UPDATE: I ordered another pair of these shorts and I don't know what happened, but this pair SUCKED! The material was super heavy and stiff and the distressing was ridiculous! The holes were so large that I might as well not be wearing any shorts! The size was way off too, fit more like a medium even though it was an XL. How disappointing. I originally gave these shorts 5 stars, but if this other pair is any indication of what the shorts are now, they are barely worth 3 stars. I guess you take your chances...you might get the most amazing pair of shorts EVER...or you might get a crap pair of shorts that you immediately return. Good luck when you order. I hope you get the amazing shorts.
