CarolinaRN: These run a little small so I bought a size up. I also have the light blue shorts as well as the white that I just purchased . The button fly is easy to button and no more difficult to use than a zipper. (Some button fly are tough to do in a public bathroom etc) They are a nice length and mid waisted. They wash well on cold water, low dryer. Highly recommend!

yo: I was looking for a black denim shorts, or as close to denim as possible. These will work. The shorts fit fine but if you have a wider leg above the knee, the cuffs might be too tight- I unrolled them and then it was fine, and glad to see that the hem was finished. The material itself was a little scratchy, But that's the nature of the cotton spandex polyester mix.
