Elle Bee: Only brand of boots I've tried that required zero break-in time, and they're durable as well. I've put many miles on my current pair and they're still going strong. Whenever I finally need new boots, I'll be getting another pair of these.

Melissa: I love Keens and these boots only made me love them more. Still have my first pair of hiking shoes and am impressed with how they have held up. Got these new ankle high boots for hiking some tougher terrain. As usual, great fit and support, and very comfortable. Also on sale so can’t beat that!

BofHope: These have been in-f-ing-credible boots so far. I bought them a couple weeks before our trip to the Adirondacks and broke them in on several decent hikes before the trip, but honestly, there was no need to do so. They felt perfect from the start, and they never stopped feeling perfect all through our Adirondacks hikes. Not a single sore anything from day one to day eleven with many miles traversed. Feet felt so supported. It was my first time with ankle-high boots, so maybe that accounts for some of my amazement at these boots? I have just two questions: 1) Will they hold up over time? and 2) Will they continue to be sold over time? It's so annoying that good shoes seem to keep getting replaced by new versions that are often not as good as the originals. These boots, as they are, are keepers. I only hope they'll last many seasons -- will update if not. Also just to note - I was a little worried that "waterproof" would mean super hot feet, but I haven't found that to be the case for me, even in pretty hot conditions -- just get thin wool socks and it's no different from non-waterproof hiking shoes. And - sizing is accurate/slightly large e.g. I wear size 7 or 7.5 so ordered 7.5, as...

Tammy K: I love the Keen Targhee for its comfort & durability, but the sizing seems to have changed. I wear a Wms Size 8.5 in street shoes. In the past, I have had 2 pair of the Targhee Mid Height and 1 pair of the Targhee Hiking Shoe, all in Size 9, based on reviews that suggested sizing up by .5 size. The 9 always fit great. This most recent purchase of the Targhee 2 Mid Height in Size 9 was much too large. I re-ordered this same boot in Size 8.5--my street shoe size--and it is the perfect fit. I'd suggest that you order your normal street shoe size when ordering the Targhee 2 Mid Height boot.

HayleyHayley: I suffer from Planter Fasciitis and other foot aches and pains, at Christmas I spent over £100 on a well named pair of boots that had rave reviews but for my annoyingly sensitive feet I couldn't walk 1/4 of a mile without my feet killing me and going on a hike in them had me in tears. These Keen boots are such an amazing turn around. From new I did a 6 mile hike and it was like wearing my comfy trainers. Not one ache or pain and I was going up hill, down hill, climbing boulders and all sorts. They are absolutely brilliant and as long as the quality stays the same these will be the only boots I buy from here on out. Definitely worth the investment.

Ontario bookworm: These shoes are fantastic and comfortable. You can slip them on and not have to break them in at all before a hike. I love a good Keen and I'm happy to have found this shoe on sale.

My two qualms with the shoes are as follows:

1. The top clasps for the laces are made out of plastic, not metal. This just seems cheap and I'm sure they will be the first thing to go on the shoe. Columbia shoes use metal clasps but aren't nearly as comfortable on the sole as Keens, imo. But although the clasps are plastic, they initially hold the laces in place very well.

2. The inner sole is made of some sort of poly-plastic and it's noticeable, as your sock does slip a bit on it. I wish it had a better texture and was less slippery/smooth --something for Keen to think about for their next design. I might spray it with a fixative to give it some texture.

Anyhow, minus to the two points of possible improvement, I still highly recommend this shoe to anyone with shorter toes and a wider food box. I have osteoarthritis, morton's neuroma, and nerve damage in my toes. These shoes are so comfortable that walking doesn't bother my feet while wearing them. I can't recommend them...
