Lyn: I'm 5'9, 170 lbs, somewhat straight hips, with smaller waist than hips. These shorts fit perfect--nice and snug around the waist (i.e., do not bulk out requiring a belt or alterations in the waist) and nice length (not too short). However, I'm 54, so like my short just a tad longer than these, so really happy I was able to make them longer, and even more perfect--if that's possible 😂
I would only recommend making longer if you have a extremely steady hand with a razor or tiny pointy scissors to take out hem. You have to be super careful to cut the thread and not the jeans. Also note that the Insignia and Vallarta are the best for making longer because they have finished edges.
