LKern: I bought this to accompany an older beach cover that was not quite big enough. I love the carry bag and spikes that can be used in grass/dirt. The sand pockets on the edge are great for keeping it from blowing in the wind. My only complaint is that I don't really like the fabric. I sheds the sand well, but it just feels cheap. I realize that this type of fabric is what makes it light weight, but I like the fabric on my other ground cover better. This one feels like it will rip easily and I was worried that my beach chairs or portable table would tear a hole in it. That did not happen, but I was concerned about it every time we adjusted our seats or the table.

Allienikol: Sand comes off easily, it's easy to fold up and pack, it's all around great but the size is way off. It says that it will hold up to 8 adults but it's really only able to fit 2. My husband and I laid our towels on it to dry in the sun on the Beach and they barely fit on it together.

Amazon Customer: Oy with the negative reviews, already!!

For all the one-star reviewers: This is not a “blanket” in the traditional sense. Anyone from a beach local will understand what I mean. A “beach blanket” is not a blanket like you’d use on a bed but rather a large swath of cloth that’s laid down on the ground to allow for sitting, lounging, etc, not unlike a picnic blanket. A picnic blanket, however, is generally some soft material (cotton, rayon, poly blend, etc) with batting material, which would be hugely impractical on a beach because the sand would get into the material and batting and never come out. A beach blanket can’t have multi layers with batting; therefore, one should expect a “beach blanket” to be a single layer of some type of tightly woven fabric (nylon, polyester, etc) that will allow sand to roll off.

Therefore, this “beach blanket” is exactly what it’s marketed as and does exactly what it’s marketed to do: allow sand to roll off while providing a large area for beach-goers to lay out when not in the surf.

Get it together, people!!
