The Horizon Hound Down Camping Blanket is the perfect outdoor companion for camping, hiking, and travel. This lightweight and packable blanket is water-resistant and incredibly warm, thanks to its 650 fill power. It's been rated as one of the best Camping Blankets based on its material quality, size, convenience, and overall satisfaction. Plus, it comes with a stuff sack for easy storage and transport. The machine-washable material makes cleaning and maintenance a breeze, while the puffy design offers extra comfort and warmth. Get your Horizon Hound Down Camping Blanket today and enjoy the great outdoors!Sarah: Bought to use as a summer camping quilt on my Appalachian Trail thruhike and camped every day with it for a month. It was way cheaper than other summer-weight down sleeping bags and much lighter than budget synthetic options. As a cold sleeper, I was comfortable to at least 50F using this quilt on an insulated sleeping pad. I didn't test it colder. My only issue using the blanket for sleeping is that it has absolutely no snaps or tightening to block air drafts. Length was great for me at 5 8. Fun print and durable enough for a month of backpacking (and more to come). I wish I had bought it sooner!

F. J. Everhart: I bought one for a camping friend as a gift a few years ago and she raved about it. Last year I did the same for another friend and she also raved, so this year I bought for myself. I LOVE this thing! I used it camping as a light blanket, but mostly I use it in bed when sitting up and reading. I can pull it over my head to keep my neck and shoulders warm. It is just perfect. And guess what I am going to buy for another friend this christmas....

Ivy BIvy B: I'm a beginner backpacker and trying to do it on a budget. This Horizon Hound GR-20 down quilt is a perfect fit for me.
PROS:
1) 350 grams of 80/20 Mix (down/feathers) 650 fill power down rated to 32°F
2) Light weight at only 1lb. 6oz.
3) Sub $100 price range (at time of review)
4) Packs down easily and takes VERY little room in a backpack, especially when NOT using the stuff sack
5) 6"x6" square baffles keep the down filling from moving around, which keeps it from creating cold spots in the quilt
6) Super cozy and warm (in my opinion)
CONS:
1) I wish it was a bit bigger. As I'm 5'8", if it were 84"x56" (instead of 77"x50") it would easily cover my head while also being wrapped around my feet, AND wrap around me with a little more room to spare since I'm a side sleeper.
2) The snaps ONLY allow you to use it as a "poncho". If the snaps were installed in such a way as to allow you to snap the sides together to create a footbox, this thing would easily rival some of the more expensive "backpacking" quilts. I'll probably add my own.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
I love this quilt. In my opinion, it already rivals some actual backpacking quilts out there....

Amazon Customer: This blanket works very well for me as a summer duvet on my sailboat. I can stow it away small, it provides just the right warmth when it is a bit cold and damp. I have the midnight blue and it looks great too. I have put aside my old, much heavier and bulkier sleeping bag with noisy zippers and this is now my preferred duvet for summer sailing and camping. The few times it goes below 15C, I simply put an heavier pyjamas on and. It is fine. I recommend this product. Time will tell but my I sense that it will last for a long time.

Juanita Gibson: This quilt is compressed within an inch of its life in the bag that is its home. It comes out looking pretty sad and thin. After a few shakes it fluffs up and looks full and lovely. The snaps work great. Nice size.

Russell Rose: Excellent blanket with handles on all four corners. Easily storable.

Amazon Customer: Kept me decently warm in 5c nights on a recent trip. I still had to wear thermal layers and a hat but it did very well for the price. It did take a couple days to fully loft after initial delivery.

jin m.jin m.: I have tried out the Get Out Gear, 3M iClimb, and Rumpl blankets as well and I believe the Horizon Hound (HH) to be the best bang for the buck. We own two of them. I would also like to try the Wise Owl, 4Monster, and KingCamp brands. If I ever do I will update this review.
The Get Out Gear is $2-3 more than this blanket right now and didn't feel quite as nice. I had an orange one and lifted it up to bright filtered sunlight in my living room. The material is quite thin—the sunlight easily penetrated the material and I could easily see the silhouette of the filling within. The filling was dispersed unevenly throughout the blanket. There were a few squares within the quilting that had very little to hardly any filling at all. More than a handful had much more than others. I have lifted both of my HH blankets to direct sunlight outdoors. You cannot see through the material at all. Some light peaks through in tiny holes within the stitching but none through the blanket material. The HH feels and looks like better quality material than the Get Out Gear blanket. Since I could not see the silhouette of the filling in the HH blankets I cannot speak to the evenness of the filling...

Josh H.: We bought these primarily for our dogs to use when backpacking, but they are honestly fantastic quilts for the money. I've used a GR20 as a topquilt in my hammock in temps down into the teens and stayed toasty warm. In that particular application, I find getting spendy on the underquilt provides more return on investment.
If you wish you could find the Costco down quilts again for backpacking, here is a viable alternative at a good price.
