NickNick: I was so excited to use this for my first attempt at colouring modeling chocolate and icing, but when it arrived, there was no blue colour included (but two yellows!). Very frustrating as I'll have to run around trying to find something in stores now.
I can't vouch for how well the colours work yet, but feeling hopeful.

Rachel: The red was not as vivid as I wanted to make the KU colors. If you want a less vivid red it would work and the other colors were fine, but I ordered it specifically for the red to make buttercream icing.

Minta: Since I am still an amateur home baker, I didn't want to purchase a huge set of gel food coloring and not end up using it all, so I opted for these. I'm still not sure if these are gel food coloring (they definitely are more concentrated than regular liquid food dye, but the gel food coloring I've seen elsewhere have been thicker), but so far I have used them to color french macaron shells and buttercream frosting, and they've worked pretty well. It does take some time to figure out how many drops to use, but I like the vibrant colors they bring to my baking!

Precise Disarray: This 4 pack of Wilton Gel Primary Icing colors, is perfect for my basic baking and decorating needs. I wanted a set of gel coloring that I could use when I get around to making macarons, and also use for other stuff. The colors are bold, intense, and concentrated. It is so much better than the typical food coloring I have purchased in store.
A little goes a long way and I can actually achieve a bold bright color. I even played around with mixing colors to make new ones, or different variations of the same color. It really worked out at Christmas time and I was making tree shaped frosted sugar cookies. I just wanted green frosting, but decided to make a few different shades of green. So straight kelly green, a yellow based green, and a blue based green. The green themed palette looked great once all plated together.
While it says gel, it isn't as thick as the little pots of color, but it sure is thicker than the typical liquid. I don't taste anything with these, likely because I need a lot less to establish a strong color. I have had no issue with getting a red, a green, a blue, or a yellow. Nothing looks off to me?
At $4, it was a worthwhile item for me to try.
