westernwarrior: These are for birds, not people. Do birds have ovens to roast their peanuts in? NO! I am hugely disappointed in these as I searched for raw shelled peanuts and instead I got these raw and roasted mixed. I won't be buying them again.
Two weeks later: The doves gobble them, even the scrub jays are distracted by them from their faves, the peanuts in the shell. Even small birds like house finches can and do eat the peanut halves. I recant my earlier review and I WILL be buying these again.

Keene_CA_ladyKeene_CA_lady: As the photo shows, the blue birds are happy eating them and other seeds from the bowl on that ledge. They show a preference for the peanuts over the sunflowers or safflower seeds. The bag had just a few tiny pieces of shell but was mostly just the peanuts most of which were whole and getting 15 pounds they were a little less in cost than the 5 pound bags I found locally. I like to make my own mixture and put it in containers that will hold about 30 pounds of food in each. I have about 11 types of birds that come at different times a year but some every day and I have 4 hanging feeders as well! When feeding so many birds costs per pound matters. My husband didn't want shells on the walk below so these work great. I don't eat peanuts to I didn't taste them myself but relied on the animals to tell me. I bought my first bag of Nyjer seed recently and they all hated it. I have little black seeds everywhere but they eat the peanuts from this bag. It has so few small pieces that I break a few up so that the smaller birds like the finches also get some that they can enjoy as well.
