K. L. Poteet: Quality safflower....but then the birds in my yard are not picky and I don't know if it's fresh or not. They like it. Price is pretty good. Hint: safflower seeds are the only bird seeds I have found that squirrels DO NOT LIKE. I've tried everything else to keep squirrels out of my feeders. This is what works because they don't like it.

Betty Pickard: The birds love this seed & the squirrels don’t. Just what we needed to attract the songbirds, esp the finch & chickadees

Nancy Hipsman: These safflower seeds are excellent. No other fillers. All seed eaters flock to our two feeders. Alas, we have to rig the feeders to prevent the chipmunks from gobbling them up. We scatter a few on the ground for the greedy chipmunks. The rest are for the birds.

Tyler Pritchard: I was using black oil sunflower seeds mixed with some other small red/brown seed, and I had to refill the feeder about every 2-3 weeks. I replaced it with safflower seed, and now I have to refill it every 2-3 DAYS. Maybe it's the seed, maybe it's the time of year, but what I can tell you is that now my feeder is being SWARMED with sparrows, finches and nuthatches. It's also led to an uptick in cats, mostly lounging below the feeder, so be prepared for that.

Pennygirl: I specifically bought safflower and nyjer seeds because we are inundated with starlings for the first time. They have always been in my neighborhood by the hundreds every afternoon around 4 but they land on the wires or a yard, stay there chattering for 5 or 10 minutes, and then leave. I had been using a Lyric Songbird no-mess blend in my window feeders but the starlings descended one day and stripped the feeders clean in minutes. I had 14 of them all at once on each of two 4" x 12" attachable window feeders, fighting with each other for the food. It was like a cartoon. They were stuffed inside, flipping the seed out, on the top, hanging on the perch on the front. If I wasn't so mad I would have been LOL. Actually I was. But I was ripping mad too. I was knocking at the window until I thought I was going to break it. Believe me. They didn't give a hoot. Knock away, sucker. We've got your food. Best in the neighborhood. Hahaha. The same thing happened the next day. I left the feeders empty for over a week and then replaced the songbird mix with half nyjer/half safflower seeds with a few peanuts in their shells mixed in. Everything was great for about 10 days. The cardinals, purple...

Female Reviewer: wild birds came down in flocks when I put it out. They loved it, and I very much enjoyed the show. Cheap entertainment! So far I have not seen any flowers grow from lost seeds, but with all bird seeds (from experience) now I hang the feeder over the corner of the garden where I plant wild flowers. It is a lovely plant, I hope some do grow!

Rosslyn Perry: My mourning doves wake me up when the sun rises with their wonderful sound, for their daily feeding of this safflower seed. They LOVE it! I feed this with cracked corn from the same company, and pumpkin seeds. My ground birds are very happy!

Marie: Not just my sweet cardinals but a few other birds come around for the safflower seeds I place in
my bird feeders. Just love seeing so many cardinals come by for one of their most favourite seeds,
the other being oiled black sunflower.

Ann: I have a very picky little parrot who will eat only sunflower and safflower seed. Sunflower seed is easily obtained but safflower is very difficult for me to find so I appreciate having the ability to order it online. It is a good wholesome product.
