Paul Morrow: We love the entire collection of Twisted Tale books. Characters we already know but with a twist! Great reads for the whole family.

Stephen DiNardo: First - You need to have seen the movie Tangled. The introduction of the story line is very well done. I give that 4 stars. The first 100 pages is pretty much Tangled with a few twists. Not much new and exciting. I give that 2 stars. However the author then introduces a new character names "Gina" which opens the story to new and fresh material and keeps your interest. From there on it would be fair to rate the book four stars. It not 5 stars but it is a fun read. 3 1/2 stars tops.

Diana MontesDiana Montes: The media could not be loaded.

Heather: My sister liked the first six. I stopped seeing them advertised or on best lists and thought they had stopped production due to covid. I was wrong. The entire series popped up on a discount on Amazon. Figured out which ones she didn't have and bought them all. I was getting these 2 for 1 at Tesco's originally but they haven't featured, happy that the overall cost was practically the same.

M. Loudon: I've read most of the Twisted Tales series, and knew going in that Braswell is one of my personal favorites. She's done Part of Your World, Straight on Till Morning, and A Whole New World (the first and one of the best). So it's entirely likely that someone picking up this book has already read through most of them.
The most clever thing Braswell does with this particular story is adding a framing device. There are several chapters that cut away to a pair of twins: a girl and a boy. The girl has cancer, and is obsessed with Tangled. So the boy, tired of watching the movie again and again as well as reading a novelization/storybook version, decides to retell the story in his way.
Braswell uses this to explain why there are various changes, and every few chapters, we go back to the cancer ward and check in on these characters. There's some commentary on the writing process, and a few moments that almost feel like Braswell addressing common complaints of the Twisted Tales series (at one point the girl insists that they still need the magic and the weirdness of Pascal and Maximus; the brother concedes). It's an interesting technique that mostly works.
Mostly...

Michelle Godfrey: It took me a little while to get into this book, but I’m so glad I didn’t give it up. It was really good, and a really interesting twist on a familiar story. I can’t wait to read the rest of them!
